The document discusses how the magazine addressed its target audience through its design elements. It used a black and yellow color scheme on the front cover to make the yellow stand out. Bold and vibrant colors were used on double page spreads to catch readers' eyes when flipping through. The front cover featured a single main image of a model to give readers a clear insight into the magazine's content. Both formal and informal language was used to connect with the target audience. Popular artist names in the genre were mentioned to attract and entice readers. Photographs featured trendy, stylish clothing and accessories to represent the hip hop/R&B genre. The double page spread included one large background image enhanced with vibrant colors and a black and white strip
This is a presentation of half my second questions their is upto question number 5 i have included in here and i will answer the next 2 questions in a prezzi.
2. • In relation to colours, the colour scheme for my front cover was
black, white and yellow/gold. This would attract readers as the
yellow/gold colour would stand out effectively on the black
background. The colours used for my DPS were a mixture of
bold and vibrant colours through the use of graffiti in the
background. If a reader was to flick through the magazine, the
DPS will instantly catch their eye.
• When trying to attract the audience, the front
cover is a key concept as it is what the readers
first see. The front cover of my media product
only has one main image which is of the model
which most magazines generally have. In my
opinion, having one main image is more
effective as it gives readers a direct insight into
the magazine and other images won’t be as
distracting.
3. • In terms of language, I used formal language throughout the
magazine, yet, I did also use some informal terms on the
cover, contents and DPS. This is because it would be the
language my target audience will be familiar with thus connecting
with them. When doing my research of magazines within the
same genre, I have noticed this has also been done.
• The sell lines I have included mention familiar names of popular
artists within the genre. This would attract and entice the reader
as it is what they already know, thus wanting them to read further
on.
• When looking at the mise-en-scene for the
photographs, I made certain that my models were
dressed appropriately for the genre. The models had
to be wearing stylish and trendy clothing along with
accessories such as snapbacks/beanies in order to
refer to and represent the hip hop/R&B genre.
4. • The DPS has one large image working as the
background and a strip image alongside the text.
The main image includes a variety of vibrant colours
which I enhanced during the editing process make it
more attention-grabbing. The strip image was
designed to be black and white as the colours would
clash and thus making the page seem untidy.
• In terms of gender, the male as the front cover model
really worked according to feedback from my peers.
The model was said to look “like a real artist within
its genre which is very male dominated, so using a
male was the correct choice”. Also, regarding the
main image on the contents page, the female model
Is standing very tall making her look empowering
and as if females in the industry are also rising. I
also used a pic of 2 males and 1 female in the same
group to show that that genders in the genre are
coming together to make music.
