Directions: Arrange the pictures according to the
process of metamorphosis.
What is Life Cycle?
 Life Cycle is the series
of changes in the life of
an organism including
reproduction.
What is Metamorphosis?
Metamorphosis is a major
change in the appearance
or structure of an animal
as it grows and develops.
Types of Metamorphosis
Incomplete
metamorphosis
-is a series of
changes in which an
insect hatches from
an egg, to a nymph,
and to an adult.
Complete
metamorphosis
-is a series of changes
in which young
hatches from an egg
to larva, to a pupa
and finally to a
mature adult.
COMPLETE METAMORPHOSIS
INCOMPLETE METAMORPHOSIS
ASSESSMENT
IDENTIFICATION
1. A major change in the appearance or structure of an
animal as it grows and develops.
2. A series of changes in which young hatches from an
egg to larva, to a pupa and finally to a mature adult.
3. A series of changes in which an insect hatches from
an egg, to a nymph, and to an adult.
TRUE/FALSE
4. A butterfly undergoes complete metamorphosis
5. A cockroach undergoes incomplete metamorphosis.
Life Cycle of
Egg-Laying Animals
Let’s Try!!!
Directions: Tell whether the following
animals undergo complete or incomplete
metamorphosis.
1. Butterfly
2. Bee
3. Cockroach
4. Mosquito
5. Lice
OBSERVE!
What is all about animals?
 All animals are members of the Kingdom Animalia,
also called Metazoa.
 There are animals that lay eggs and there are
many that don’t.
 Animals which lay eggs are known as oviparous
animals.
 Animals which reproduce by giving birth to their
young ones are called viviparous animals. These
animals are also called mammals.
ACTIVITY #1
Directions: Identify the following animas
whether they lay eggs or not. Write Oviparous
or Viviparous.
1. duck
2. human
3. snail
4. fish
5. dog

Huma Life Cycle
Stages
REVIEW:
Directions: Review the different egg laying animals
through a guessing game.

Let Us Think!
Q1: Do you have a baby brother or sister?
Q2: Do babies grow quickly or slowly?
Q3: What kind of things causes babies to grow?
Q4: Does everyone grow to the same height?
Same weight? Why or why not?
What is Fertilization?
Fertilization is the union of
sperm and egg cell.
What is Reproduction?
Reproduction is the process in
which organisms produce
offspring.
The Human Life Cycle
The stages of a
human
development are:
1. infancy
2. childhood
3. adolescence
4. adulthood
The Human Life Cycle
1. Infancy- the earliest part of childhood. Typically, it
is the first year of life. It is the first important stage of
human development.
2. Childhood- takes place from one to eight years or
before adolescence.
3. Adolescence- the stage that takes place between
ages fourteen and eighteen.
4. Adulthood- the period from adolescence to the end
of life and begins at age nineteen.
ASSESSMENT
Directions: Identify what stage of human development is being
described.
1. Boys and girls gain more independence from their parents
during this stage.
2. Girls at this stage begin to menstruate and are now capable
of giving birth.
3. A child learns to walk, talk, and begin to be more self-
sufficient.
4. A child is completely dependent on the care of his/her
parents.
5. It is this stage that boys begin experience changes in their
voice.
