FACT
A fact is a statement that can be proven true or false
through objective evidence or reality. It is universally
accepted as accurate based on verifiable data.

that reflects personal feelings rather than objective
evidence.
It is a personal view; however, it is still based on facts.

3 CATEGORIES OF OPINION
STATEMENTS
It is an opinion that something is or is not the
case.
These statements claim that something is or isn’t true,
even though they’re based on opinion.
Examples:
“Filipino cuisine is among the best in the world.”
“The Philippines is one of the most disaster-
prone countries due to its geographic location.”
1.STATEMENT OF TRUTH

It is an opinion statement which claims that
something does or does not have worth.
These statements express an opinion about the worth
or importance of something, often based on cultural or
personal beliefs.
Examples:
• “Respect for elders is one of the most
important values in Filipino culture.”
• “Education is the key to lifting Filipinos out of
poverty.”
2. STATEMENT OF VALUE

It claims that something should or should not be
done.
These statements suggest what should or shouldn’t be
done, encouraging action or change.
Examples:
