The document is a script for a short film that follows Emily, a young girl who feels like she is being pursued or stalked. In the opening scene, Emily walks to school alone feeling worried and isolated. She thinks she sees someone following her. At school, Emily is startled when Harry greets her, increasing her feeling that someone is watching her. When her friends ask if she's okay, Emily sees a shadow at the window that frightens her. In class, Emily is confused when the teacher doesn't call Harry's name for attendance, and learns that Harry has died. When Emily turns to look, she sees Harry smiling behind her, revealing he may have been the stalker pursuing her all along.

FADE IN:
SCENE ONE
The scene begins with a young girl walking down the road to
school by herself. She looks worried, as though someone is
trying to follow her. The girl is dressed in her sixth form
clothing with a bag slung casually over her shoulder.
(Start voice over)
EMILY
I never used to feel like this, so alone, so
isolated…
(She is looking down at her feet.)
EMILY
and yet that is my issue. I am not alone.
(She looks to the side, then gradually looks further around
until she can see behind her. A group of other students are
walking around her. Unbeknown to Emily, Harry is also
walking alone further behind her. The group begin to
laugh.)
EMILY
I can feel something pursuing me.
(Close up of Emily shows voices repeating her name over
and over “Emily” “Emily”.)
Whenever I walk alone I feel its presence, almost
like it’s watching me and waiting for the right
moment {pause} to pounce.
(As Emily pauses, Harry breaks through the crowd. During
Harry’s close up / pouncing moment he completes a voice
over.)
HARRY
Must get closer. Closer. Closer.
Emily continues to walk until she reaches the school gates
3. 3
where the scene cuts to her entering.
(End voice overs.)
SCENE TWO
Emily is entering the school grounds and can feel the presence
following her on her way. She feels unsafe. Emily goes to
open the door of the common room, as her hand touches the
door handle she is startled. Her hand flies off the handle.
HARRY
Hi Emily! You okay?
(Harry looks concerned for Emily, she is alarmed.)
EMILY
{pause} Yeah thanks Harry, I’m fine.
(Emily goes to open the door again, her hand hovers for a
second before she lets out a deep breath and throws open
the door. Her friends are already in the room and are happy
to see her. They don’t know about the stalking, but it is
clear that they worry about her. Harry goes to sit down
nearby.)
LIBERTY
Hi Em, how’s your day going?
(Liberty is sitting down at a table with Jake, another
friend of Emily’s. She stares up at Emily who places her
bag on the floor.)
EMILY
Hey, it’s going okay, {pause} so far.
(Emily sits down at the table with Liberty and Jake.)
JAKE
You sure? You seem a bit off today Em.
EMILY
Yeah don’t worry, just a little tired.
4. 4
(Emily smiles back at Jake to help reassure him that she is
okay. She is then alarmed by what she thinks is the shadow
at the window, she squints to see further, her body leans
over the table slightly. Her eyes widen as she stares at
the window behind Liberty’s head.)
LIBERTY
Are you still not getting much sleep?
(Liberty leans to the left to line up with Emily’s line of
vision as she is still staring at the window. Emily’s face
is struck with fear, she doesn’t move or respond to
Liberty’s question, she remains staring out the window at
what she thinks is the shadow.)
LIBERTY
Emily? {pause} Emily!?
(Emily doesn’t respond when her name is first called.
Liberty touches Emily’s arm as she says her name again.
Emily breaks focus and jumps from shock. Liberty looks even
more concerned. Emily’s eyes close and she shakes her head
slightly.)
EMILY
Sorry, what did you say?
(Emily looks at Liberty.)
LIBERTY
I asked if you were still struggling to get some
sleep.
EMILY
Oh, {pause} no I’m sleeping fine I just had to
stay up late last night that’s all.
(Emily smiles at Liberty to reassure her, she then turns
her head back to the window and begins to bite her
fingernails.)
JAKE
You know we are here for you if you need to talk.
(Jake looks to Emily and smiles. She smiles back.)
5. 5
EMILY
I know Jake, thanks.
(Emily presses her phone to and sees the time, she reaches
for her coat and bag.)
EMILY
Time to go guys. It’s almost 5 past.
(Jake and Liberty both gather their things and get ready to
leave the common room. Emily turns from the table to face
the door. She feels the shadow lurking behind the door.
Emily freezes. The door handle begins to turn slowly. Emily
is visibly scared. Tension builds as the door handle gets
further down. The door flies open – Emily gasps. It’s not
the shadow, it’s another student – Adam enters.)
ADAM
Guys you’re going to be late, come on!
SCENE THREE
Emily is now entering her classroom with the rest of her
peers. They take their seats as they wait for the lesson to
begin. There are tables and chairs all around the room. Harry
is seated behind Emily.
LEWIS
Good morning class I hope you are all ready to
learn today.
(Lewis begins to walk over to laptop to do the register.)
LEWIS
Before we get started let’s check whose here.
(Lewis sits at the teaching pod and uses the laptop.)
LEWIS
Liberty.
6. 6
LIBERTY
Here sir.
LEWIS
Jake.
JAKE
Yes sir.
LEWIS
Emily.
EMILY
Yes sir.
LEWIS
Adam.
ADAM
Here sir.
LEWIS
Right then, let’s start.
EMILY
Sir?
(Emily raises her hand, looking confused.)
LEWIS
Yes Emily?
EMILY
You forgot to call Harrys name?
(Emily still looks very confused.)
7. 7
LEWIS
Emily? You know Harry hasn’t been with us for a
few weeks now, don’t you?
EMILY
What do you mean?
(Emily is extremely confused and distressed at this point
as she does not understand what Lewis is talking about,
Harry is sat right behind her? The other students in the
room stare at each other and Emily. Everyone looks at the
chair showing Harrys chair is empty.)
LEWIS
Harry is dead?
(Lewis is concerned that Emily thinks he is still alive.)
EMILY
(Emily’s eyes widen. She slowly starts to turn
around to see Harry in the chair behind her. He is
looking down, then his eyes meet Emily’s, he begins
to smile then laugh. Emily looks terrified.)
(The screen goes black. A deathly silent tone is played as
the film ends.)
