This document outlines a proposed "Purim Pledge" where teenagers and young adults pledge not to operate vehicles if they consume alcohol on Purim and not to get into a vehicle with a driver who has been drinking. They also pledge to make safe transportation arrangements if choosing to drink. Signing the pledge enters them into a raffle with prizes. The document discusses coordinating the pledge campaign through Jewish organizations, recruiting participants, possible additional pledges and follow up advertising of participants.

1. Purim Pledge
In order to help ensure a safer Purim, I pledge that
1) I will not operate or attempt to operate a vehicle if I have consumed any alcoholic
beverages whatsoever.
2) I will not get into a vehicle driven by anyone who has consumed any alcoholic beverages
whatsoever.
3) If, in consultation with my parents and Rebbeim and while obeying all applicable laws, I
choose to drink on Purim, I will make safe transportation arrangements before Purim.
For an additional raffle entry: I will encourage my friends to sign the Purim Pledge.
Eligibility:
Teenagers and young adults between 15-24.
Coordination:
National Organization(s), local coordinators, Yeshiva coordinators.
Potential National And Local Cosponsors:
Hatzalah, Jewish Newspapers, local politicians, community leaders.
Recruitment:
Local campaigns, national and local advertisement, Yeshiva recruitment campaigns, Social
Media
Raffle Prizes:
$5,000 Savings Bond; “Purim Pods”, local prizes.
Additional Possibilities:
Designated Driver Pledge (and Raffle), “Purim Patch”, “Drunk Goggles” Presentation,
Controlled Substance Pledge.
Follow-Up:
National advertisement publishing the names of participants and winners. (include a disclaimer
in Purim Pledge that notes that their names may be published), No Smoking Pledge.
