Dear Future Employer,
My interests, passions, and ambitions run the gamut. But above all else, I'm interested in
histories: personal histories, the histories of objects, of places, of concepts. Every “thing” in this world
is a system of trajectories that extends before and behind it. Everything is content and context. My
main work is the exploration, assessment, and unveiling of these contextual systems through the
alchemy of creative expression.
In 2007, I received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from St. John's College, NM. This unique
4-year institution prides itself for its rigorous, multidisciplinary, seminar-based curriculum. The
educational environment at St. John's helped foster in me and cultivate such skills as literary analysis,
critical thinking, creative and formal writing, and verbal articulation.
During my tenure at St. John's, I served for two years as Editor-in-Chief of The Moon, their
student-run college newspaper. This position helped refine my abilities in contribution solicitation,
copy editing and writing, layout design, and printing and distribution logistics.
Since then, I have been published by various online and print entities, have maintained a regular
blog, and even organized a long-term Writer's Workshop in Manhattan. In 2010, I spent the fall
copyediting novel manuscripts for Africa World Press, a period that proved very instrumental to my
understanding of the proofing and editing process.
For the last 6 years, I have participated as an integral member in Aztec Economy, an
underground theater company based in Brooklyn, NY. As well as performing in, assistant directing and
producing, and providing dramaturgical insight for numerous productions, I have also served as one of
Aztec Economy's chief Video Designers. I have designed and edited numerous trailers, promotional
videos, and narrative video-art projects for the company. In 2012, I was Head Video Designer for Color
TVs en Tijuana, an hour-long production that incorporated 7 continuously streaming TVs with live
stage performance.
While I have a heap of credentials in a wide variety of skills, the width of my focus has
sometimes been a hindrance to me. I am interested in further focusing my experience in the field of
publishing and media marketing.
There's a lot of history to uncover. I'm up for the count.
I appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from your company.
Best regards,
Adam Laten Willson
