Public speaking involves communicating messages back and forth between a speaker and an audience. It generally refers to speaking to a large group and can include things like speeches, presentations, and moderating events. There are different methods for preparing and delivering public speaking presentations, including impromptu speaking which allows for spontaneous expression but may lack structure, manuscript speaking which ensures exact wording but can come across as flat, memorized speaking which frees the speaker but risks losing their place if nervousness increases, and extemporaneous speaking which uses an outline for structure but runs the risk of forgetting parts of the planned explanation.
