Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD
hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto
Him: 1 A proud look, 2 a lying tongue, 3 and
hands that shed innocent blood, 4 An heart
that deviseth wicked imaginations, 5 feet that
be swift in running to mischief, 6 A false
witness that speaketh lies, and 7 he that
soweth discord among brethren.

20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and
forsake not the law of thy mother: 21 Bind them
continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy
neck. 22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when
thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou
awakest, it shall talk with thee.
Over and over we are warned to remember the
good things we have been taught.
They will do us good our whole lives.
4
Do you want to live well and do good?
Do you want to lie
down at night and
enjoy sweet sleep?
Do you want to awake
in the morning ready to
live a life that counts
for the Lord?
5
Let Him Have His Way with Thee.
Remember the Truth that you’ve
been taught, and live it!
Don’t just
read it;
live it.
Give God
thanks.
Be
faithful.
6
1 Corinthians 1 9 God is faithful, by Whom ye were
called unto the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ
our Lord.
Because our Father is faithful, we
should be faithful in all good things.
And that means more than simply
not cheating, although not cheating
is absolutely essential.
Spend time together; enjoy one
another; do chores together; raise
children together.
7
Faithful to your employer
Colossians 3 22 Servants, obey in all things your
masters according to the flesh; not with
eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of
heart, fearing God: 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it
heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the
reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord
Christ.
Be on the job ready to work.
Be excellent.
8
Faithful to your friends
Proverbs 18 24 A man that hath friends must shew
himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh
closer than a brother.
True friends will be
faithful to each other.
9
Faithful in prayer and worship
We studied Sunday that David wrote Psalm 3 as he
was fleeing his palace and the city of Jerusalem
because Absalom was coming with a multitude.
Yet David wrote a song of prayer and thanksgiving.
Philippians 4 (NIV) 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it
again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The
Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in
everything, by prayer and petition, with thanks-
giving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of
God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
10
Faithful to hear and heed the
Word of God.
John 14 23 Jesus
answered and said unto
him, If a man love Me,
he will keep My
Words: …
11
Faithful to submit to the
Holy Spirit of God.
Galatians 5 22 But the fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-
suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law.
And we need to be faithful to use the gifts,
which God has given us, to bless the church
and see lost souls saved.
12
Faithful to attend
worship at the
house of God.
Hebrews 10 24 And let us consider one another to
provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as
the manner of some is; but exhorting (to call near;
encourage; comfort) one another: and so much the
more, as ye see the day approaching.
13
Principles for a blessed life
But head knowledge is not enough.
We must believe God enough
to live our lives His Way.
All the way, every day!
Ain’t
worth a
dime.
