Rachel’s Prototype and Test
I created two prototypes for two of my ideas.
The two ideas are programing live show and a
website for no-professionals and professionals
to get connected. (My problem to solve was to
get junior students prepared for real software
engineer's work. )
I tested them with my two co-workers, Sam and
Mike. They are who I interviewed before.
A software engineer live show
Developers teams work on some cool subjects and
compete with each other
Let some IT gurus to be referees
Live Show – Test Result
None of them favor this one. Sam said, will
anybody watch this show? Mike did not think
there will be many participants. Both of them
declined to explore further on this prototype.
(Hurting... This is my favorite idea, and I don't
think it's crazy.)
A website for people to
get connection with professionals

Website – What worked
- They think the idea is good, to give people
chance to find professionals and to ask for
advice.
- And they believe some professionals would
like to provide advices even for free.
Website – What could be improved
Sam said, don't you think it is too material, to do
flat rate?
- I argued(yes, my first thought was self defense,
but I also believe it was to explain the prototype)
the aim was to encourage more professionals to
take part in, and their time is valuable.
- But I knew it means something to improve, to
avoid people feeling disgust about the charge
thing.
Website - Questions
Who makes the price for every professional?
- My original thought was themselves.
Website - Ideas
- It would be more fair if the website make
some rules of pricing.
- should give the "customers" who paid and
finished an appointment chances to give
feedbacks, maybe to score the appointment,
how it is worth it.
