This document discusses costume and prop ideas for a film trailer and poster in the thriller/mystery genre. There is not much costume or props used in
this image that is used for a film poster,
showing that the main focus is her facial
expression and the use of a close up, which we
will take inspiration from and also add make
up all over her and down her face for effect
and to draw the audience in.
Many thriller/mystery films use props that
suggest violence and also make-up that shows
that violence has occurred and maybe show’s
that more danger is coming. So we will use
make-up for effective in a trailer and on our
poster and magazine, to do this we could put
blood on Georgia (main character) to show what
is happening to her and also black make up all
down her face to show her emotional pain.
In many films of this genre (thriller/mystery)
casual clothes are worn by most of the characters
but as the film goes on they become ripped or
completely ruined, which we will do in our trailer
to show the process of her life changing through
her acting, make up and also clothing and props.
Also many films in this genre use dark
clothing which goes with the eerie dark
atmosphere of the whole film/trailer. They
also use a lot of the colour red in different
things to symbolize danger for example, so
this is something we could incorporate into
our poster/magazine/film trailer.
