This research proposal aims to study organizations that have successfully recovered from strategic failures. The researcher will use a qualitative, exploratory methodology. The proposal is divided into three parts: an introduction outlining the problem and literature review, research methodology, and strengths and limitations. The introduction identifies the research problem as understanding the steps successful organizations take to recover from strategic failures that differ from those that do not recover. The literature review examines prior work on strategic failures in organizations and how some recovered while others could not.

Abstract : The global mega-trends as the case in the Business Management School (BMS) at Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC) are leading to increase the levels of their school, dynamism and uncertainty in the corporate environment and outside the country. In an uncertain economy, the BMS needs effective strategies that will enable it to prosper. Traditional leadership approaches have been recognized insufficient by the rapid changes in the knowledge economy. This business need to practice systemic innovation in this fast-changing, knowledge-driven global business landscape in order to remain competitive with the available Universities and Colleges. Strategic administration is random to the span of the association, however will probably happen in a violent business environment. Item separation and cost administration were additionally straightforwardly connected to vital authority. Finally, this study affirmed that viable vital administration practices could help business associations in BMS to upgrade their execution while contending in disorderly and cracked situations. Estimation instruments have additionally been produced, which might be utilized by administrators, experts and different specialists to quantify these marvels in future. Select a Diagnostic Model (see Chapter Five) that you utilize to review aspects of change activities and actions that have been taken by the companies chosen. Here we are looking at the “parts” of the companies as well as their strategies, as surmised by your research in Part 1. It is acknowledged that this information will not be complete, as you are looking at these companies as an outsider; but a thoroughly researched paper will give enough data to allow some (well-defended) assumptions on your part.
Here’s what to do:
1. Choose one Diagnostic Model (i.e. 6-box, 7S, congruence, or etc.) to apply to the two chosen companies. Choose the model which you feel best identifies and measures the relevant aspects of the organization’s performance and therefore the diagnostic choices made will affect your findings.
2. Apply the data obtained in your research through an analysis of the appropriate chosen model. This will allow you to create a diagnosis of where each company is today (as per the criteria of the model).
3. Create a SWOT Analysis for each of the two chosen companies change plans/programs, utilizing information obtained in the diagnosis. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.)
4. Compare the two company analyses to each other and offer your perspective (value judgment) of the effectiveness of the changes made to date in each case.
5. Identify potential areas of resistance that may occur and at least one strategy to respond to each. (This will most likely come from your Weaknesses/Threats section of your SWOT. If not, take another look at your SWOT.)
6. Write your paper including each of the above sections, and analyses

Strategic planning models can offer a range of opportunities to an organization. The National Criminal Justice Association (2017) recommends the following strategic planning models:
Model One: The Basics
Organizations that are small, busy, and have not done much strategic planning before might want to start with this approach. Top-level management often carries out planning in this model rather than using a community-based approach. Basic strategic planning includes:
1. Create a mission statement. A mission statement describes why the organization exists (i.e., identifies its basic purpose). The statement should address both the types of communities or audience that the organization serves, and the services and products it will provide. The top-level management will generally develop the mission statement. The statement will change somewhat over the years.
2. Select the organization’s intermediate goals. Goals are general statements about what needs to be accomplished to meet the purpose or mission and address major issues.
3. Identify approaches or strategies to reach each goal. Strategies are often what change most as the organization eventually conducts more robust strategic planning, particularly as external and internal environments are examined more closely.
4. Identify action plans to implement each strategy. Action plans list the steps that each major function (for example, a department or agency) must take to ensure that it is effectively implementing a strategy. Objectives should be clear enough to be assessed if they have been met. Ideally, top management will develop committees, each with their own work or set of objectives.
5. Monitor and update the plan. Planners regularly monitor progress towards goals and whether action plans are being implemented. Perhaps the most important indicator of success is positive feedback from customers.
6. Note that organizations may want to extend step 3 by identifying additional goals that help develop central operations or administration (e.g., implementing a new goal that strengthens financial management).
Model Two: Issue- or Goal-Based Strategic Planning
Organizations that begin with basic planning often evolve toward this more comprehensive and effective approach. This model will be the focus of recommendations for use as the preferred process in community-based planning.

However, analysis of the various prescriptions of HR practices for innovation reveals a high level of internal inconsistency, leading to conflicting advice for practitioners. Furthermore, a review of empirical research on the topic indicates that HR practices within innovative organizations are remarkably similar to those found in the best practice literature This raises questions about the link between strategy and HRM, and about the theoretical foundations of research on HRM and innovation. Drawing on recent research on HRM and firm performance, I suggest that research on HRM and innovation can benefit from incorporating elements from both contingency theory and best practice approaches into the existing configuration theory approach. A change in direction for both theoretical and empirical research on HRM and innovation is proposed. This paper is laid out as follows. In part one, I ask what a strategy of innovation is, and consider what employee behaviors are believed to be consistent with such a strategy. The second section compares and contrasts different authors’ prescriptions of HR practices for innovation, and also compares the findings of research on HRM and innovation with the findings of the best practice approach. In the final part I consider the implications of MY review for future research on this topic. This section provides the opportunity to develop your course project. Conducting an internal environmental scan or organizational assessment, provides the ability to put the strategy audit together.
In this module, you will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the internal environment at your business unit or organization you are working with for this project, also known as an organizational assessment, and present your findings in a report. In your report, you should analyze the operating characteristics and assets of your business unit.
The SWOT model is one of the most common business tools used during organizational assessment. Another is developing a balanced scorecard based on a prescribed or planned set of performance objectives that will be measured and evaluated regularly. In this assignment, based on the external environmental scan you conducted in M2: Assignment 2 and the internal environmental scan in this assignment, you will develop a SWOT analysis and a balanced strategic scorecard.
Part I: Internal Environmental Scan (2–3 pages)
The internal environmental scan or organizational assessment should include the following:
· Mission, vision, and values: Assess the organization’s understanding of the mission, vision, and values, and how they relate the business strategy. Is there consensus on the mission and vision of the organization? What are the shared values of the organization? What are the behaviors espoused by these values?
· Strategy clarification: Assess the organization’s understanding of the business strategy through the interview with a mid-level or senior manager. Assess his or her understanding and agreement of the business unit’s value proposition, market position, and competitive advantage.
· Cultural assessment: Explain the unwritten rules and shared values that govern behaviors in the organization. Do they act as enablers or blockers to the strategy? For example, is there a culture of information sharing and collaboration that enables the organization to respond quickly across structural boundaries to solve problems for customers? On the other hand, do groups not share important information through informal mechanisms, thus slowing response times?
· Value chain analysis: Identify the primary (direct) and support (indirect) activities that create and deliver your product or service to your customers. Assess each activity’s contribution to competitive advantage through cost or differentiation. Identify any areas where the business may be at a competitive disadvantage.
· Summary of findings: Using these different analyses, identify the organizational strengths and weaknesses as they relate to the business strategy. The purpose, function, and application of strategic planning in health care administration is studied. Content includes strategic planning, situational analysis, strategy formulation, action planning, and metrics. Leader qualities are used in this module to effectively identify strategic issues, develop a team, and develop a plan of action for overall improvement. Organizational behavior is examined to view its impact on organization vision/mission, organizational goals, organizational communication, and the diverse environment of professionals in health care organizations.
Strategic planning models can offer a range of opportunities to an organization. The National Criminal Justice Association (2017) recommends the following strategic planning models:
Model One: The Basics
Organizations that are small, busy, and have not done much strategic planning before might want to start with this approach. Top-level management often carries out planning in this model rather than using a community-based approach. Basic strategic planning includes:
1. Create a mission statement. A mission statement describes why the organization exists (i.e., identifies its basic purpose). The statement should address both the types of communities or audience that the organization serves, and the services and products it will provide. The top-level management will generally develop the mission statement. The statement will change somewhat over the years.
2. Select the organization’s intermediate goals. Goals are general statements about what needs to be accomplished to meet the purpose or mission and address major issues.
3. Identify approaches or strategies to reach each goal. Strategies are often what change most as the organization eventually conducts more robust strategic planning, particularly as external and internal environments are examined more closely.
4. Identify action plans to implement each strategy. Action plans list the steps that each major function (for example, a department or agency) must take to ensure that it is effectively implementing a strategy. Objectives should be clear enough to be assessed if they have been met. Ideally, top management will develop committees, each with their own work or set of objectives.
5. Monitor and update the plan. Planners regularly monitor progress towards goals and whether action plans are being implemented. Perhaps the most important indicator of success is positive feedback from customers.
6. Note that organizations may want to extend step 3 by identifying additional goals that help develop central operations or administration (e.g., implementing a new goal that strengthens financial management).
Model Two: Issue- or Goal-Based Strategic Planning
Organizations that begin with basic planning often evolve toward this more comprehensive and effective approach. This model will be the focus of recommendations for use as the preferred process in community-based planning.

The Research aims on Human Resource Management and innovation has to date relied on a theoretical assumption that there exists an identifiable set of HR practices which organizations seeking to be innovative should adopt. However, analysis of the various prescriptions of HR practices for innovation reveals a high level of internal inconsistency, leading to conflicting advice for practitioners. Furthermore, a review of empirical research on the topic indicates that HR practices within innovative organizations are remarkably similar to those found in the best practice literature This raises questions about the link between strategy and HRM, and about the theoretical foundations of research on HRM and innovation. Drawing on recent research on HRM and firm performance, I suggest that research on HRM and innovation can benefit from incorporating elements from both contingency theory and best practice approaches into the existing configuration theory approach. A change in direction for both theoretical and empirical research on HRM and innovation is proposed. This paper is laid out as follows. In part one, I ask what a strategy of innovation is, and consider what employee behaviors are believed to be consistent with such a strategy. The second section compares and contrasts different authors’ prescriptions of HR practices for innovation, and also compares the findings of research on HRM and innovation with the findings of the best practice approach. In the final part I consider the implications of MY review for future research on this topic. Assignment 2: Internal Environmental Scan/Organizational Assessment
This section provides the opportunity to develop your course project. Conducting an internal environmental scan or organizational assessment, provides the ability to put the strategy audit together.
In this module, you will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the internal environment at your business unit or organization you are working with for this project, also known as an organizational assessment, and present your findings in a report. In your report, you should analyze the operating characteristics and assets of your business unit.
The SWOT model is one of the most common business tools used during organizational assessment. Another is developing a balanced scorecard based on a prescribed or planned set of performance objectives that will be measured and evaluated regularly. In this assignment, based on the external environmental scan you conducted in M2: Assignment 2 and the internal environmental scan in this assignment, you will develop a SWOT analysis and a balanced strategic scorecard.
Part I: Internal Environmental Scan (2–3 pages)
The internal environmental scan or organizational assessment should include the following:
· Mission, vision, and values: Assess the organization’s understanding of the mission, vision, and values, and how they relate the business strategy. Is there consensus on the mission and vision of the organization? What are the shared values of the organization? What are the behaviors espoused by these values?
· Strategy clarification: Assess the organization’s understanding of the business strategy through the interview with a mid-level or senior manager. Assess his or her understanding and agreement of the business unit’s value proposition, market position, and competitive advantage.
· Cultural assessment: Explain the unwritten rules and shared values that govern behaviors in the organization. Do they act as enablers or blockers to the strategy? For example, is there a culture of information sharing and collaboration that enables the organization to respond quickly across structural boundaries to solve problems for customers? On the other hand, do groups not share important information through informal mechanisms, thus slowing response times?
· Value chain analysis: Identify the primary (direct) and support (indirect) activities that create and deliver your product or service to your customers. Assess each activity’s contribution to competitive advantage through cost or differentiation. Identify any areas where the business may be at a competitive disadvantage.
· Summary of findings: Using these different analyses, identify the organizational strengths and weaknesses as they relate to the business strategy. Organizational strengths are assets, capabilities, and resources that contribute directly to the organization’s strategic fit, differentiation, and competitive advantage relative to competing organizations. The research methodology that would be used in this research, would be a qualitative research methodology and exploratory in nature. The following paper contains the research proposal for the study of the same, by the researcher. It is divided into three different parts, consisting of introduction, the research configuration and lastly the strengths and limitation of the proposed research that is to be undertaken. The first part of the proposal is an introduction to the problem in question. It explains how strategic failure is often the result of a flaw in the implementation stage. Through this, the research problem is identified. The research problem that was identified was to find the steps that these organizations who recover from strategic failures take, that separate them from those organizations, which never recover from these strategic failures. Also, are there any common factors or steps that these organizations adopt to overcome strategic failures? This part also, goes on to describe at length the literature review that the researcher has undertaken for the subject. The literature review has been done mostly of journals, cases and books which are published on the subject which are on strategic failures in the organization and also how they recover from it and what mistakes were done by those who could not recover strategic failures.
