3. Project Management:
Project management is the practice of applying processes, skills, tools and
techniques to complete tasks and reach a goal. It involves coordinating
activities through various phases, from initiation to completion.
It also involves making sure deliverables comply with client standards and
deadlines. These include knowledge of the different phases of a project, the
roles and responsibilities of those involved, and various tools that teams
can use to execute a project successfully.
A manager or executive who typically coordinates these tasks is called a
project manager.

4. Elements of Project Management:
Project management has five phases, each with its distinct objectives and deliverables.
These phases are:
1. Initiation: Team members outline the main elements of a project, including goals,
scope, limitations, stakeholders, and risks.
2. Planning: A manager defines every step in a project from beginning to end.
3. Execution: Managers and team members progress through a project, completing
tasks and working toward objectives.
4. Monitoring: Project leaders track metrics to ensure success and resolve any issues
that arise.
5. Completion: Project teams finalize deliverables and review the results of the project

5. Types of Project Management:
After going through the wide Introduction to Project Management and the
five elements, explore the different types of project management developed
with the requirements of particular projects.
* Waterfall Project Management: As the name suggests, this is the
conventional type of PM that follows the traditional pattern wherein the next
task is resumed only after the completion of the previous task. Therefore,
project timeline and attention to the sequence of tasks are paramount in this
type of PM. In this type of project management, the team size expands as the
smaller tasks are finished, and the larger ones begin.

6. Types of Project Management:
* Agile Project Management: The IT sector was the pioneer who used this
type of PM. Unlike the conventional one, Agile follows the continual
improvement process through monitoring, continuous follow-up, and
interactions with the team members per the business conditions. Thus, it
helps identify and rectify errors without repeatedly resuming the entire
process, which is a plus!
* Lean Project Management: Lean PM is based on the principle of
avoiding waste of time and resources. It practices creating more value from
less, primarily based on the Japanese functioning. So, the lean way of PM
focuses on adding value by eliminating everything that fails to add value.

7. Role of Project Manager:
* Identifying and defining the project scope, timeline, resources, and budget
development.
* Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting the progress to the stakeholders
* Conducting risk analysis, managing risks, and developing mitigation plans.
* Communicating and negotiating with the stakeholders
* Maintaining the quality standards of a project.
* Monitoring and managing the results as per the defined actuals.
* Closing the project by analyzing the results and communicating the same to
the stakeholders.

8. Main Challenges of Project Management:
While the specific challenges that every project faces are generally
related to its particularities, certain common constraints apply to most
projects. The three main challenges of every project are:
* Cost: Managers keep the project within the allocated budget.
* Time: Teams complete projects before a deadline.
* Scope: The project has certain features and functions, in accordance with
the stakeholders' initial wishes.

The tools that project managers use greatly depend on their project's nature and
scope. different tools for different tasks related to the project's completion,
* Collaboration tools like email and project management software enable those
involved in the project to receive and assign tasks, review comments, organize
schedules and approve future actions.
* Planning and scheduling tools to help the project manager delegate work and
keep track of all the outstanding tasks and their deadlines
* Evaluation tools help constantly track the productivity of everyone involved,
compared to the required standards.
* Documentation storage tools have easy access to all files related to the project.

includes identifying the project's objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
* Time management: refers to estimating, scheduling, and controlling the project's
timeline. It includes identifying the project's milestones, activities, and deadlines.
