Project: Middle School Mapping of Attendance Areas Phases 1, 2, and 3
Client: State of Hawaii Department of Education
Roles: Data manager, Client Trainer, Meeting Facilitator, Mapping Technician
Mapped middle school attendance areas on Oahu, Maui County, and Kauai. Used various data sources, such as
hardcopy, electronic, and verbal interview data. Helped secure all project phases.
Project: Ala Wai Flood Control
Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Role: GIS Specialist
Managed GIS for the project dealing with the flooding problem of Manoa Stream that caused over $100 million
in damage. Prepared Watershed Plan/EIS exhibits and data. Tasks included conducting topographic surveys of
the stream and floodplains and first floor surveys in flood-prone areas in the watershed. Prepared SDSFIE
Geodatabases for Client.

Client: Department of Land and Natural Resources
Role: GIS data manager and field data collector
Customized field data collection software interface, taking into account field crew’s preferred work flow
patterns. Manager for incoming and outgoing geospatial data.

Role: Geospatial Technician, data manager, and field worker
Managed, collected and QAQC project data. Built SDSFIE GIS Geodatabases for submitting to the Client.
Project: Kawainui Marsh Invasive Plant Study

Role: GIS Analyst
Mapped out vegetation on Kawainui Marsh. Assisted with field data collection using, setting up, and customizing
Arc Pad to field crew’s specific needs. Prepared SDSFIE Geodatabases for the Client.
Project: Hilo Judiciary
Client: Swinerton Pacific
Role: GIS Specialist and Data Manager
Conducted soil testing at the site of the planned Hilo Judiciary Building. Developed a mitigation plan to protect
workers and future visitors to the public building and conducted additional tests to assure appropriate disposal
of excess soils at the County landfill. Conducted soil testing in association with the removal of an abandoned
fuel tank discovered on-site.
Project: ATLAS
Client: National Railroad Passenger Corporation (AMTRAK) Continental United States
Role: GIS Specialist and Data Manager
Conducted field surveys of transportation infrastructure sites on the continental United States using GPS and
GIS. Made recommendations to the client for infrastructure hardening and modification to minimize terrorist
threats.
