Emmellda Beech
Environmental Scientist, Technical Investigator and Data
Analyst
Overview
Ms. Beech researches, analyzes, retrieves and organizes technical data for
all types of Environmental projects. She successfully works independently
with little supervision, always with the client in mind. She has a unique
ability to organize, prioritize and analyze large amounts of information
efficiently in a useful and logical manner. Data includes current and
historical, legal and environmental documents, building plans, building
records, utility and substructure maps, hazardous waste operations and
materials files, facility business plans, industrial waste and underground
tank files, oil refinery and general engineering blueprints, litigation files as
well as City, County and State records for data inclusion in real estate
portfolio transactions on behalf of both buyers and sellers in the public
and private sectors, and other environmental projects.
She has developed working relationships with city, county, state and
federal agency personnel, and uses her considerable one-on-one
relationship building skills to maintain a level of information retrieval
beyond a cursory investigation, thereby increasing the client’s ability to
make decisions based on all the available information. Discretion, tact and
diplomacy are all skills she uses to the projects’ advantage when acting as
a liaison between the Company and the agencies.
The data retrieved is generally used for inclusion in Phase I and Phase II
Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for private industry, developers,
and government agencies throughout the United States. Project sites have
included vacant parcels, dairy farms, wetlands, commercial and retail
complexes, business parks, municipal buildings, warehouses, multi-tenant
residential properties, local schools and universities, fire stations, gas
stations, hotels, movie studios, acute-care hospitals/medical office
buildings, oil refineries, major ports and industrial/manufacturing
facilities. She has performed building surveys, architectural surveys,
limited asbestos surveys, industrial waste site surveys, land and utility
mapping, assessor parcel investigations and chemical investigations. She
has also provided field office supply maintenance and sample labeling, lab
prep and soil sample delivery and disposal support for various field
projects in Southern California.
For the past 5 years, she has been expanding her expertise to include air
and groundwater technical data management and database entry, detail
checking, Quality Assurance (QA) Quality Control (QC), field photo
archive file management and database QC for the reporting phase of large
scale groundwater remediation and air monitoring projects. Her QC
activities also included organizing and maintaining the field and personal
protection equipment for a large 5 year remediation project including
procurement scheduling and spatial design within a limited spatial
footprint.
