In the progression from the preliminary task to the full product, Sam Rees learned improved editing skills using Final Cut Pro to create clear, flowing cuts. Camera work skills also increased, with practice producing steadier shots. Creative ideas progressed by researching bio-pics of John Lennon to make the open school more realistic and entertaining compared to earlier ideas.

task, what do you feel you have learnt
in the progression from it to the full
product?

2. Editing
• In the preliminary task editing skills were
basic.
However since creating the OS I have been able
to create clear and flowing cuts that make the
OS run smoothly. This is because of the software
final cut pro which, once I was able to
understand how it functioned the OS showed
how I progressed.

3. Camera work
• The camera work was also lacking in skills in
the preliminary task. The camera work was
not as focused of stable as it could have been.
• However we had time to practice and increase
the steadiness of the camera to produce
stable shots in the OS.

4. Creative ideas
• In the preliminary task I came up with the
ideas that were filmed which in comparison to
the OS they were not as creative.
• I made sure I progressed by watching previous
media students work, watching bio-pics and
researching further into the life of Lennon to
create a realistic and entertaining OS
