What have you learnt
about technologies from
the process of
constructing this project?
PRE-
PRODUCTION/PRODUCTION/POST-
PRODUCTION
Microsoft Office was one of the main technologies we
used, mainly being Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft
Word. We used these for multiple purposes, including
the majority of our evaluations, as well as almost all of
our pre-production work.
I already knew how to use Microsoft Word and
PowerPoint to a good degree, and didn’t need any
assistance or tutorials in learning how to use them, and
found it easy to produce all the documents I needed to
make, including the
shot list and prop list.
One criticism is that formatting the tables for the shot
list was difficult to work through, but I found it easy to
pick up on how to work through this.
PRE PRODUCTION
During pre production we were told to use Blogger, a blogging website that we would
use to document the production of our project.
It allows for multiple authors on one blog which would be perfect for having all four
us able to have tags on posts so that when you look through our personal tags, both
group work and personal work can be found.
It was easy to learn and allowed us to keep track of our group work, one criticism
would be it can be hard to format both the posts and the look of the website.
PRE PRODUCTION
We were also told to use Celtx, a script writing program.
Celtx allowed us to easily format work in a script format and was very easy
to pick up after a short tutorial from our tutor. It automatically changes
fonts, highlights, etc when told to format itself like a certain part of the
script.
We used it to both make a final
script as well as the four scripts
when we were brainstorming
ideas for our final script.
PRE PRODUCTION
Photoshop wasn’t a necessary to use, but I used it to make our logo,
and it was really easy to pick up to use it to produce text and shapes
since our logo wasn’t too complex to create.
If we’d wanted to make it more complex
then I would have had to ask for help
or look up tutorials.
PRODUCTION
To film we used a Panasonic HCV 550 camera which was really good
to work with as it was easy to pick up and learn from a beginners
stand point. We also used a Panasonic Lumic DMC FZ82. Both of the
cameras were able to create high quality footage and we had previous
experience with the Lumic DMC FZ82, so while being more higher
standard, it was easy to use. We were able to use it for what we
wanted, including zooms, tracking, pans, etc.
They had good sound quality and were able to
produce good footage.
PRE-PRODUCTION/POST-
PRODUCTION
The main technology we had to learn to use was
Adobe Premiere Pro, a professional standard
editing software that I had previous experience
with so that I could do basic editing for our
preliminary exercise, such as making cuts and
transitions.
It was very easy to work with and meant that we
could work alone without much assistance or
teaching on how it worked, as well as previous
experience. It also didn’t crash or freeze
frequently, and had very fast render and exporting
time.
Only one of our group knew how to use Premiere
Pro in depth, and therefore only he could edit the
complex scenes such as the transition from the
street to the park, as well as the title sequence.
POST-PRODUCTION
To create the evaluation I used SlideShare and Prezi to produce the
evaluations, they act as presentation devices, with SlideShare hosting
Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, and Prezi producing their own.
SlideShare proved to be difficult when signing up, as the account
needed to made through LinkedIn, so I had to go through the process
of making a LinkedIn account as well.

Celtx allowed us to easily format work in a script format and was very easy to pick up after a short tutorial from our tutor. It automatically changes fonts, highlights, etc when told to format itself like a certain part of the script. We used it to both make a final script as well as the four scripts when we were brainstorming ideas for our final script.

PRE PRODUCTION Photoshop wasn’t a necessary to use, but I used it to make our logo, and it was really easy to pick up to use it to produce text and shapes since our logo wasn’t too complex to create. If we’d wanted to make it more complex then I would have had to ask for help or look up tutorials.
  • 6. PRODUCTION To film we used a Panasonic HCV 550 camera which was really good to work with as it was easy to pick up and learn from a beginners stand point. We also used a Panasonic Lumic DMC FZ82. Both of the cameras were able to create high quality footage and we had previous experience with the Lumic DMC FZ82, so while being more higher standard, it was easy to use. We were able to use it for what we wanted, including zooms, tracking, pans, etc. They had good sound quality and were able to produce good footage.
  • 7. PRE-PRODUCTION/POST- PRODUCTION The main technology we had to learn to use was Adobe Premiere Pro, a professional standard editing software that I had previous experience with so that I could do basic editing for our preliminary exercise, such as making cuts and transitions. It was very easy to work with and meant that we could work alone without much assistance or teaching on how it worked, as well as previous experience. It also didn’t crash or freeze frequently, and had very fast render and exporting time. Only one of our group knew how to use Premiere Pro in depth, and therefore only he could edit the complex scenes such as the transition from the street to the park, as well as the title sequence.
  • 8. POST-PRODUCTION To create the evaluation I used SlideShare and Prezi to produce the evaluations, they act as presentation devices, with SlideShare hosting Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, and Prezi producing their own. SlideShare proved to be difficult when signing up, as the account needed to made through LinkedIn, so I had to go through the process of making a LinkedIn account as well.
