Abstract:
Medical visualization papers often deal with data that is interpreted by medical domain experts in a research or clinical context. Since visualizations are by definition designed to be interpreted by a human observer, often an evaluation is performed to confirm the utility of a presented method. The exact type of evaluation required is not always clear, especially to new researchers. With this paper, we hope to clarify the different types of evaluation methods that exist and provide practical guidelines to choose the most suitable evaluation method to increase the value of the work.
Google science fair
The document discusses a study that compared the reading effectiveness of teens using electronic devices versus print materials for academic purposes. The study found that teens scored significantly higher on reading comprehension tests when using print rather than electronic materials. They also took almost twice as long to read on electronic screens. Improving clinical reasoning skills by means of electronic voting

Abstract:

When unfamiliar with an employer, in-person channels are most popular but employer websites become even more important when considering applying. Female students prefer receiving newsletters while males value employer videos and blogs more. Over a third of students believe not participating in career fairs could negatively impact an employer. People who work at the employer are seen as the most credible sources of information.

Italian PhD students primarily study in isolation and interact infrequently with supervisors and other researchers. A survey of over 600 PhD students found they make limited use of digital services and social media provided by their institutions. While students use social media regularly in their personal lives, they primarily use it to search for literature and do not see it as a way to practice academic writing or network. Students have high expectations that social media could help them stay updated in their fields but low expectations it could improve critical discussion. Overall, students take a cautious approach to using social media for research, seeing it as a way to support existing practices rather than experiment with new ones.
