2. • Decide on a specific focus and design your survey
• Submit your survey questions and a survey
proposal stating:
i. your topic and why you chose it,
ii. what you hope to find out
iii. what you expect to find out
In this lesson you will…
3. What you have to do
• In pairs, select a topic and design some
questions for your survey.
• At the beginning of each lesson you will
interview a different classmate (starting next week).
• At the end of the semester you and your partner
will write a report based on the data collected in
your interviews.
• This will be your final assessed piece of work and
will be worth 20% of your final grade.
4. You should:
• Include open questions that require your interviewee
to say more than just ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. For example:
- What do you think about…?
- Why…?
• prepare some introductory questions to get your
interviewee to introduce, for example:
- themselves
- their major
- their year (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year student)
5. You will be given more
information about the report
itself at the end of the
semester.
You will type up and submit
your survey questions with
your report.
