Filming Date - Monday 26th
January 2015
What we did today was that we had to film our trailer.
The purposeof why we had to film our trailer today was because it was our
last week to film as we werebehind on schedule and running out of time. We
also had to wait until the sky wentdark.
The impact it had on us was that we had to try and get the shots right without
messing up which did lead to some of our clips being not recorded or deleted.
The role I was personally responsiblefor was the lighting. This meant that I had
to see whether or not the lighting of the filming was good or bad. Because this
was my first time being in charge of lighting it was a bit of strugglebut then I
realised that the lighting is really important as the audience would like to see
how well or not the film trailer would be and if it would look like an actual
trailer.
The purposeof this was that we had to wait until sun set then we could film
the outsidepart of the ‘hoodieguy’. We also had to go to someone’s house
that had a small bedroom with dim lighting, which wasn’ttoo bright or dark.
The effect it had on us was that it we didn’thave enough male actors to go for
our ‘hoodie guy’ role. We then decided to try a girl and a boy to wear a hoodie
to see if our ‘hoodie guy’ would look possible. We then finally decided the
male to go ahead with that character.
Film timing Scenes
12:10pm
Classroom scene
The scene in the classroom was filmed during our free period. We
had to use the classroom because there were no classes available.
5:00pm
Window scene
We had to wait for the sun to go down and for the sky to get dark to
make the guy in the hoody look quite frightening and intimidating.
We made sure you couldn’t see the face of the person properly, we
made him wear a hoody. The only facial features that were
showing were the mouth and the nose.

5:15pm
Typing “missing people”
Even though this scene or piece of footage was really short, it took
us quite some time to film. We had to repeat it a few times because
we needed similar footages but with different angles so we could
see which shot was best later on.
5:45pm
Comparing photo to girl in
article
It took us about 30 minutes to film this piece of footage. We
needed the perfect angle for this footage because the audience
had to see the laptop and what’s on the screen, the photo in
Katie’s hand and Katie’s facial expression. We also had to make
sure the lighting was good enough for the picture in Katie’s hand.
We had to make sure the face in the picture was seen perfectly.
6:15pm
Finding the diary
This piece of footage took some time for us to film because we
needed to somehow make our actor cry and look really
traumatized and sad. The expressions and emotions had to look
real. We also had to keep changing angles to see if the footage
looks better or worse.
6:45pm
Not being able to sleep
This piece of footage took the longest for us to film because we
had to make sure the lighting was perfect. She was in bed trying to
sleep so it couldn’t be too dark or we would not have been able to
see her, and if it was too light then it would not have looked like it
was night time. So we decided to turn the light off but use our
phone torches for some light. The lighting came out perfect.
Furthermore we had to try different shots, at first we decided to do
an extreme close up so the audience could see her facial
expression. But we also wanted the audience to see her body
language, so we decided to do a full shot. The camera was running
out of charge at that time and the plug was quite far from the place
in the room we were filming so we waited for the camera to charge
a bit and then used it. We didn’t need a lot of charge, because it
was out last piece of footage to film.
