The document describes three editing techniques used in a production diary: 1. Colour grading was used to make a scene stand out more by warming the grass, which took little time. 2. Three-way colour correction, where adjusting the midtones was most important to balance character and background, was the most challenging as it took significant time. 3. The razor tool allowed clipping unwanted footage to shorten the trailer and make it more relevant, making it the most useful technique.

1. Production diary
1. Colour corrector
This is an example of me using a colour-grading tool on premier
editing software In order to make a certain scene in the trailer to
stand out more. I first started by searching for colour graders and
then when one came up for example the diagram above which I first
started by moving the colours over to a warmer colour in order to
highlight the grass giving it a more appealing look.
Overall I believe that this was one of the easier editing techniques, as
it didn’t take to much time to make sure that the colouring was
appropriate to the theme of the production.

2. 2. Three way colour corrector-editing technique
After the first colour correction of a base for all of them I began to proceed to use
other more advanced colour correction that could further add to the effects of the
scenes. The further colour correctors were called three way colour correction, the
majority of the time the most important colour corrector to be used was the
midtones in the middle, this was the most important out of them all because it
created the most balance between what’s in the background and Connors
character making sure that they don’t clash.
Overall I believe that this was the most challenging editing technique used out of
all of them as it took a large amount of time to make sure that each of the colour
correctors weren’t overpowering the other.

3. 3. Razor editing tool
This shows an example of myself using an editing technique called the razor
which allowed me to snip at footage that had been filmed for our production
and then dispose of which ever piece of footage that we didn’t want to use in
the final production.
Overall I believe that this technique was the most useful technique of editing
out of all that I used because it meant that I was able to section what parts of
full footage were needed and that weren’t needed in order to shorten the
trailer and also add relevant parts.
