Why should you do this?
Well, if your slides stand out from normal presentation slides, your presentation will stick better in the audience's mind.
In the slides, you'll see the following...
1. Slides from a real presentation that I fixed and added pictures for the backgrounds.
2. You'll see the Before, then I’ll show you how to get from the Before to the After.
The steps I took can be done in PowerPoint or Keynote. The slides in the example presentation were all made in PowerPoint for Mac. Don't worry, as pretty much everything in the PC version of PowerPoint does the same thing.
So here are the six steps I took:
1. Alignment is a fast way to make a presentation more professional looking; use a left-align as your default to avoid design faults.
2. Use pictures that are relevant to your topic; make sure the picture size is the same or bigger than your slide size.
3. If a picture doesn’t have good colours, change it to black and white.
4. Make your titles bigger to create contrast and to help the audience see better.
5. Don't trap text in a bordered text box... Set it free!
6. Use a black box set at 75% transparency to use as a background for your text.

- 1. Process of school magazine front cover.(continuing from my manipulated images PP)
- 2. I have changed the background to a purple to white gradient, I have chosen these colours as I feel that it works with my magazine because our school has purple as one of its main colours.
- 3. • I have added my Masthead in large text and black writing to allow it to stand out and be one of the main things that the audience see when they look at the magazine.
- 4. • I have now added a FREE sign in a black star to make it stand out and for the reader to know that they will be getting more than what they expected.
- 5. • I have added a strapline at the bottom of my front cover to tell the audience a little bit about what the magazine is about and what will be included in it.
- 6. • I have now added two coverlines to allow te reader to know what the magazine will entail without opening it.
- 7. • I have added a sub image to my coverline to allow the audience to know what the article is about without even reading the text.
- 8. • I have added a Main coverline which is in a lighter colour which I feel makes is more effective as it stands out more than the other coverlines.
