Prevent Child Abuse America is a non-profit founded in 1972 to create healthy futures for children free from abuse and neglect. In April 2013, Prevent Child Abuse America partnered with Miss America Mallory Hagan to create a display of over 5,000 pinwheels, the national symbol for child abuse prevention, in Times Square to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month. The pinwheel display aimed to remind people of the importance of supporting efforts to prevent child abuse and urged them to get involved by joining, donating, or learning more about issues facing abused children.
