This study aimed to investigate following term among
students of Noakhali science and Technology university.

as a common
neurological disorder
having a significant
impact on adult people
due to its frequency and
substantial disability.
It has a prevalence of
12–28%, which has been
shown to be both age
and gender dependent
in community-based
studies worldwide .
Migraine is highly
prevalent among
university students and it
is associated with
impaired academic
performance and limited
daily activities . It has
negative effects among
university students, who
indeed require constant
concentration and high
level of performance.
Mental stress,
sleeplessness, eating
habits, menstrual cycle,
changes in weather
conditions and
temperature, frequent
traveling, food items,
oral contraceptives and
using electric device are
factors that most trigger
migraine attacks.

12. The migraine students were not interviewed by neurologist for confirmation of
migraine diagnosis.
In addition, the use of a self-administered questionnaire might create a
misunderstanding of some asked questions with the risk of subjectivity in the
answers.
The sample size in this survey was small, and was certainly not representative of the
total population in the study area
Limitation
13. High prevalence of headache with migraine in university students. The prevalence rate of
migraine is greater in female than male.
The students awareness of the disease was very low with about one half of the students
resorting to self-medication and over the counter drug.
Prevalence, frequency and severity of headache increase with different trigger factors
such as Mental stress, sleep disturbance, weather change, prolonged use electronic
device, Menstrual period.
