This document summarizes the stories of three nontraditional students and how online education has helped them overcome obstacles to continue their education. It discusses a student who cared for her family while completing her education online, a mother who was able to advance her career through online courses, and a young father who was able to get back on track with school after a relationship ended using online learning. The moderator concludes by saying these stories inspire him because online education allows for lifelong learning and, as the technologies evolve, will continue to positively impact students.
The presentation provides information about the SAT and ACT exams. It discusses what the exams are, who should take them, when to take them, how to register, how to prepare, and what to expect on test day. The presentation recommends students first take the exams during their junior year of high school and provides resources to help with preparation.

This document provides a timeline of fashion styles and periods from the 16th century to today. Key eras included are the 16th-18th centuries, the 19th century, 1900-1940, 1950-1980, 1990-2000, and today's styles. The timeline gives a concise overview of the evolution of fashion over the centuries.
Frank F. Britt, CEO Penn Foster, delivers Penn Foster's mission to graduate one million high school students at the 2014 ASU+GSV Summit in Scottsdale, AZ.
This document contains an English grammar quiz on the simple present tense. It covers identifying verbs in the simple present, forming questions in the simple present, negating sentences in the simple present, and filling in missing verbs in the simple present. The quiz is divided into multiple choice questions and fill-in-the-blank exercises to test understanding of verb conjugations and usage in the simple present tense.
Frank F. Britt, CEO Penn Foster, addresses the nation's mega trends that is changing the face of education as we know it at the 2013 ASU/GSV Summit in Scottsdale, AZ.
Peter Ockerbloom, Senior Vice President Client Management Penn Foster, presents the future of career technical education with online and hybrid learning models.
The document discusses the $1 trillion student debt crisis in the United States. It notes that over 38 million people are directly impacted by student loan debt, which includes $864 billion in federal loans and $150 billion in private loans. The root causes of rising student debt are complicated, involving higher tuition costs due to state budget cuts for public schools, lack of awareness about federal student loans, tuition increasing faster than incomes. Many groups are looking for solutions, including new online and hybrid education models, income-based repayment plans, financial literacy programs, and innovative financing options for students.
This document discusses the changing landscape of higher education and the rise of distance learning options. It notes that over 6.7 million students took an online course in 2012, representing about a third of all postsecondary students. Distance learning is becoming more embedded in traditional programs and available as a standalone option. The document discusses how for-profit schools were early adopters of online education and helped drive demand. It also outlines different online and hybrid models that are available today and profiles Penn Foster as an example of an online career focused institution. The document argues that students' options should be framed more broadly than just traditional four-year colleges given the growth of alternatives like community colleges, vocational programs, certificates and apprenticeships.
As one of the largest high schools in the United States, Penn Foster is changing the landscape of America's dropout crisis by offering hybrid learning options that work. Through partnerships with community organizations including leading non-profits such as Job Corps and YouthBuild, as well as career schools and school districts, we are not only helping non-completers gain access to education, but are providing them with the confidence, credentials, and skills to help them better their lives and overcome challenges.
