The document describes a two-day High Impact Presentation Skills Training workshop. The workshop teaches delegates how to reduce anxiety when presenting, develop purposeful presentations focused on inspiring action, and conduct audience analysis. Through exercises and peer feedback, delegates prepare and deliver presentations on real work themes while learning to deliver messages with supportive body language. The goal is for delegates to leave with improved skills in designing high-impact presentations and delivering them in a confident manner.

The GAIA model is one of the first holistic approaches of the Earth System, seen as a cybernetic system (with feedback and feed-before specific to the conservation of a homeostasis in the Living – Dead relation) and as a real bioreactor allowing for the birth and conservation of Life.( Lovelock & Margulis , 1974 . Lovebock 1988; Lenton 1988 ) . This model holds true that : -life affects the environment: all living organisms alter the environment by extracting free energy and by excreting waste with high entropy, a metabolic process that secures the production of negenthropy (life perpetuation , Schrodinger 1944).
- the growth , reproduction included, of Life is made according to exponential laws; - the inorganic environment constraints the emergence and perpetuation of life: for each environment variable there is a value for which a specific organism is developing at a maximum rate; -once Life has emerged under several forms that multiply according to the given conditions , the development of each species in the context of a limited environment with finite resources is subject to natural selection; the outcome is that species able to best adapt to a specific context become dominant species.
This description of the Gaia system points to a hierarchical structure of systems and sub-systems , that are at different levels of organization; among them, there are exchanges of energy, matter and information (messages), with the end product of dynamic stability being achieved. (the system’s homeostasis ).
In this ecosystem, that is based on its own regulatory laws at the level of the whole, man has become a particular being, especially by its capacity to construct exomatic (artifact) extensions involving an accelerating free energy consumption and obviously, an associated entropy production. The entire ensemble of infrastructure constructions has now a global character (global transport networks of electricity, roads, railroads, cars etc ) and the life style imposes the consumption of electricity, water and food in amounts that are growing exponentially. This “diffusion” of the artificial universe all over the Earth, supported by economic globalization has created a new ensemble, defined by the subtle interwoven dichotomy : Natural – Artificial; the diffusion is likely to contribute to possible fluctuations of the whole GAIA , with unpredictable consequences for the evolution of life in general and of the human species in particular. Hence, it becomes strategically important to understand how such a complex system functions and to conceive methods to monitor and model interactions that develop at so different levels in order to give coherence to specific entities ( atom, cell, organ , organism , group, society); it becomes strategically important to find methods capable to watch “the health status of the environment“, to signal crisis situations and hereby contribute to limiting the negative effects of the anthropic develo

Join collaboration expert Michael Sampson as he explains how applying the necessary time and resources upfront pays dividends.
ASTD ICE 2011 Session W316: Description: By itself, training often is not enough to improve individual or organizational effectiveness. After all, training is only an appropriate intervention when the performance gap is due to a lack of skills and/or knowledge. Solutions that affect real change and fully address business needs typically involve multiple interventions. Learning and performance professionals require basic skills to gauge and stage business readiness to support training sustainability. The speaker will present a step-by-step approach that will allow you to start adding change management tools and techniques to your existing training toolkit.
Objectives:
-Identify common change-management tasks for learning initiatives
-Implement simple tools for creating deliverables
-Integrate change-management tasks with training tasks to create an overall transition strategy.

Persuading partners to join hands ….
Commitment towards a
THINKPLAN cause …..
6. THE IMPACT IS HIGH USING THE HIP METHOD – THESE ARE SOME
REASONS
The preparation and structure of the presentation reduces fear
and stress during delivery.
The purpose of the presentation is clear and the thorough
research and backup information is targeted towards a goal
Presenting with the receiver’s needs in mind increases
commitment to action
The structure of high impact presentations gives confidence
because of the in-depth preparation and the uniqueness of the
method of structuring the message.
The method focuses on inspiring the audience to take action.
Your awareness of your own and the body language of your
audience ensures your message and body tells the same story
7. THE DESIGN AND
DELIVERY OF HIGH
IMPACT PRESENTATIONS
ARE SKILLS LEARNT
DURING A TWO DAY
WORKSHOP
THINKPLAN
8. LEARNING OUTCOME 1 – DELIVER WITH AWARENESS
Delegates will be
more aware of
their own and the
body language
of the receiver
and understand
the importance of
body language
that supports
their message.
9. LEARNING OUTCOME 2 – PRESENT IN A COMFORTABLE AND LESS
ANXIOUS WAY
Delegates will be
more aware of how
stress factors
influence the result
of presentations and
how through the high
impact presentations
method, the
preparation and
structure will
reduce fears during
delivery.
10. LEARNING OUTCOME 3 – DEVELOP PURPOSEFUL PRESENTATIONS
WHICH LEAD TO A REALISTIC OUTCOME
The goal of the
presentation is
clearly defined
and forms the
basis of the entire
presentation and
supporting
information
11. LEARNING OUTCOME 4 – CONDUCT AN AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
Presenting with
the receiver in
mind leads to
higher probability
of buy-in and
resulting
commitment to
action
12. LEARNING OUTCOME 5 – FORMULATE THE MESSAGE OR INFORMATION
TO RESULT IN A REALISTIC ACTION
The method
focuses on
inspiring the
audience to take
action which they
are capable of
saying yes to
13. THE HIGH IMPACT WORKSHOPS ARE ABOUT LEARNING USING REAL LIFE
PRESENTATION THEMES.

MIND MANAGER VISUAL MAPPING TOOLS
15. MODULE 1 DESIGN
SESSION 1 : MORNING : INTRODUCTION
Introducing each other
Stress symptoms defined by the presentation teams
Personal style to understand our audience
Iceberg – Identifying potential issues in the audience
SESSION 2 : AFTERNOON : PREPARING THE PRESENTATION
Themes to use as basis for presentations
Specific actions required from various stakeholders
Objective - Goal of presentation : What we want to influence - what
action do we want our audience to take ?
Conclusions to arrive at in order to take the required action
Evidence ( proof ) supporting the conclusions - giving substance to the
message
Introduction, Body and Conclusion of presentation
16. MODULE 2 - DELIVERY
SESSION 1 : MORNING : PRESENTING
Delegates present to the group
Peer group feedback
SESSION 2 : AFTERNOON : PRESENTING AND FEEDBACK
Developing a list of potential questions and answers
Feedback and peer group learning
Refining the presentations which were developed during
module 1
Discussing ideas for the further development of the evidence and support
slides ( or visual display)
Action plan and follow-up after the presentation
Feedback and conclusion
17. PREPARATION AND AFTER-CARE
PRE-WORK
Delegates are encouraged to bring along a current presentation
which they would like to work on or a “hot topic” for a
presentation they would like to prepare for, anticipated question
and answers usually encountered during their presentations and
support documentation for these presentations such as
statistics, pictures/art work etc.
AFTER-CARE
Further development of art work and slides
Translation of presentation into power point or other visual
method
Delegates are encouraged to practice their presentations
afterwards and give each other further support and peer group
feedback
Delegates are also encouraged to support others within their
projects in their presentations.
Coaching support and a one day follow-up practice workshop is
THINKPLAN
recommended.
