1. Article Presentation Instructions
Students will be required to give a five-minute oral presentation based on a French article.
Present a summary, not a translation
Runs throughout the semester (2 students per group)
Original French article must be handed in to teacher
Marks will be taken off for incorrect timing
Marks will be taken off for not having the correct material (French article,
handout for the class)
Format
Introduction: - Tell an anecdote, mention a surprising fact/ statistic, show a picture, etc.
concerning your subject (the hook)
- Say what your presentation is about (the subject)
- State the points you will be dealing with in your presentation

Body: Present the main points and give your analysis
•
Conclusion: Sum up what you have said and state your own point of view
•
Question and answer session
Everyone in the class should receive a HANDOUT which deals with the vocabulary (10 words)
and approximately four questions for the class to answer/discuss.
Don’t forget:
“Thank you for your attention.”
2. Effective Presentations
Presentation Tips
Know your audience and what they know about your subject.
Plan content and structure (introduction, body, etc....).
Don't read!
Speak slowly and clearly.
Project your voice so that everyone can hear you.
Don't speak in a monotone. Vary the pitch of your voice and
stress important words.
Use appropriate body language and gestures.
Don't be static.
Show interest/ enthusiasm in your subject.
Know your subject well and REHEARSE your presentation.
