2. We used the codes and conventions of a
Thriller/Bollywood genre. (which are on our blog).
We believe we have developed them through the
use of kinetic camera work, traditional music, the
location and fast paced editing.
We believe we used these codes and conventions
to show the Asian community in Britain in a
negative way through the character Ajay (Furqan
Ali), who is Anjali’s older Brother.
3. We wanted to represent the Younger
generation of the British Asian community in a
heroic way.
We represented this social group through the
character Anjali (Simran Bahra).
We wanted to show that the Older generation
have to respect the changes that the younger
generation are bringing to the community.
4. We were looking at a few of companies such as
Sony BMG, Pathe and FOX Searchlight.
We decided we would have liked Pathe to
distribute our film, and this was because Pathe has
taken many low-budget films and turned them
into award winning material, the success and
impact of films such as 'Slumdog
millionaire', 'Adulthood', 'Kidulthood' and
'Hunger' which were all low budget films.
We believe that Pathe could have done the same
to ours and this is why we have chosen this
company.
5. We wanted to target a mass audience but after
further research on how other films did in the
cinemas and the result was that a lot of women
went to see this genre of film and also a lot of
teenagers. We came to a decision that our film
was targeted at the younger generation of the
British Asian community and also the younger
generation across Britain.
6. We also created a simple (yes/no answer) by
asking 25 people if they would watch our film
based on our unfinished synopsis.
The results were: YES: 24
NO: 1
The majority of the people we asked were aged
between 16-18. we also asked some teachers
and they also said they would watch this film.
We will be creating a detailed questionnaire
after we have finished making the final and
main poster for the film.

8. Our Preliminary task was rushed in the editing
department as we did not value the time for
editing as we should have, but for the main
task we vacated enough time to undertake the
editing and I believe this showed through our
film.
