Ideas for our Music Video
Group: Abisola (Me), Rubina, Siddiquea and Tangina
When meeting with the group for our music video we had several of ideas. Some of the ideas were rejected and some was approved.
The first topic we talked about was what type of song we will like to work on.
These are the list of potential song:
Michael Jackson- Smooth Criminal
Cyndi Lauper- Girl just wanna have fun
Destiny Child- Soldier
Destiny Child- Lose My Breath
Taeyang- I’ll be there
When looking at the list, Destiny Child- Soldier-, Destiny Child- Lose My Breath-
Taeyang- I’ll be there- was rejected after discussing about what we could do for them. Destiny Child- Soldier was the first song that was rejected because we feel that it will take a great deal of time to get so many people to be in the music video and time was not on our side. Destiny Child- Lose My Breath was a similar reason to why we rejected the song. Taeyang- I’ll be there- was a different reason all together we feel that not a lot of people who resident in London and specifically in our local community will not be able to relate to the song. And also the song will be needed to be translated in order to work on it. So our final song choice was Cyndi Lauper- Girl just wanna have fun. The reason why this song was our final choice was because our targeted audience are from the age range of 14-25. This song is the right song for our targeted audience age range so therefore any other song will not be the right choice for our targeted audience.
When discussing the name for our record we came up with several ideas, for example- we came up with Girl's Allowed, Only Girls and other names but our final decisions was S.T.A.Rz. The letters stand for all the people in the group.
During the meeting, we discuss about the location of the production. We decided that the location setting must be local such as Mile End-which is a 5minutes journey from the school- and also in the school premises. This is because it will be easier for the group to transport the equipment needed for the shooting.in additional the reason why the location must be local is for health and safety reason. It will be easier for the production team to check the location for health and safety reason in advance.
After choosing the name for our music video and discussing about the location we will be using. The next thing is sketching the storyboard for the music video. Each student have a verse to draw their ideas of what they feel should happen in the verse. This gives us the benefit of using everyone ones ideas and it show that we are working together as a team.
