Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

The monitor section in the personal resource card is now available for the Exact Synergy User , to check the calendar, view personal documents such as payroll slips and access reports. The Employee Self-Service User can now access the HRM module, view the personal card and requests of subordinates and create and view vacancies for his cost center. Users with the CRM role can now view person-specific requests that are not defined in HRM settings.
Capacity planning extends currently available planning in PSA. Before the project manager always had to explicitly define the days on which a consultant should work on the assignment. With 247/403 the project manager can plan capacity of a consultant, or, in other word, plan him against the deadline. To do that, click the Plan multiple days button on the project planning card.
Here, a PM can choose Plan timeframe, and enter the person, the activitity and its description, and specify the deadline and duration of the assignment. When exactly the consultant realizes the hours on this assignment is up to the consultant himself.
The PSA settings screen reflects other changes that took place in 247/402.1) Deliverables – items used to define the scope of the project – now have a dedicated assortment. All deliverables created on any project will be placed here.2) In response to customer feedback, we have given the administrato the possibility to disable usage of draft hours for the consultants when they are entering their hours and expense on the hour entry screen.3) And also, if the company does not want to use deliverables & WBS for scoping of the project, the administrator can disable it from this screen. However, note that in 248/403 this setting will be set per project, which will allow the PSO to run some projects without scoping and some with.
There were quite a few enhancements to the hour entry screen:There is a new column, Deliverable, that is visible when the PSA settings "Use deliverables" and WBS is turned on. Here the consultant can realize hours against a specific deliverable. The new column Remaining is used to indicate how many hours the consultant has to realize on a capacity planning request. Just as mentioned before, the consultant simply enters hours against a capacity planning request that is shown on his hour entry screen until the deadline of it has arrived. The cells of the hour entry screen were made more visible. Before each cell was plain gray, which confused some consultants. Based on the customer feedback we made this small, but noticeable improvement. There is now a new menu next to each cell that allows the consultnat to Edit description, Attach a document to the hour realization (e.g. a visit report) or to remove draft hours from the cell. Note that in order to attach a Synergy document, at least an ESS role is needed on top of hour entry role. And the red X allows the consultant to remove all draft hours in the row in one go.
