I am now on slide 13. For most clients, the move to cloud is not something they are tackling all at once. Many clients are looking to start with an infrastructure foundation from which they can build their cloud capabilities. This is where players like Cisco with UCS and HP with their blades are positioning their hardware solutions as part of a cloud foundation. On slide 13, I have depicted the various components of IBM ’s cloud infrastructure. The core element of this cloud foundation is a virtualized and managed infrastructure that allows clients to increase utilization and get a better handle on managing their environment. Our portfolio includes individual components such as x, p or zSeries hardware that leverages the virtualization and management capabilities in our system management sw products such as PowerVM or zVM, VMControl and System Director. The ability to better utilize, automate, manage, monitor and meter these environments is provided by the Tivoli suite of products available in piecemeal or as part of integrated appliance solutions. BladeCenter foundation for cloud provides HW and pre-integrated virtualization management SW with VMWare, System Director and VM Control to provide a complete virtualized and managed platform which includes servers, storage and networking. Cloudburst expands on the Bladecenter for Cloud by including pre-installed service management components to automate, provision, monitor and meter. Many of our clients are using our x, p, and z series hardware solutions as the basis for moving to cloud capabilities. Often times due to confusion around differing definitions of cloud, clients may not be calling these implementations cloud, despite having the key elements and capabilities of a cloud. Part of our roll is to leverage the strong foundation that our STG teams have built to position and expand the capabilities of these environments to deliver even greater value to our clients. One example of where a client is using pSeries as a foundation for a cloud utility compute platform is JPMC described on slide 14.
Pureflex solution, is a power (AIX, OS/400, Linux) / intel (with more virtualization layer: KVM, HyperVM, VMWare) that can host most of the SAP SO/DB The Pureflex node can help to Optimize a SAP environment reducing TCA/TCO Only Pureflex can host both SAP on AIX and Intel , this hybrid capabilities easier the migration from existing SAP environment that is done with an homogenous approach. IBM with its professional service can help to migrate from same (AIX, Windows, Linux, OS/400) or different platform /DB proposing also Software Optimization as the use of DB2. The intrinsec management function of Pureflex can help to create an IaaS or be added by other functionalities as SAP LVM to create a SAP PaaS as in the next slide is explained ATTENZIONE PER LO SPEAKER LA SOLUZIONE SC4SAP USA TIVOLI TSAM per gestire AUTOMAZIONI per SAP, per il momento non è previsto uso SAP LVM. ESISTE SOLUZIONE TSAM DI AUTOMAZIONE, MA IBM NON LA STA SPINGENDO IN AMBITO PRIVATE
IBM SAP Pureflex has its embedded the Flex System Manager that managed the HW resource node, storage.. on top of this solution there are two possible option Build an IaaS leveraging the IBM Smarter Cloud Entry solution and managing the SAP Bases separately in manual mode Integrating SAP LVM with FSM (non ci sono soluzioni per integrare Smart Cloud Entry and LVM sembrano alternative non soffermarsi) ATTENZIONE PER LO SPEAKER LA SOLUZIONE SC4SAP USA TIVOLI TSAM per gestire AUTOMAZIONI per SAP, per il momento non è previsto uso SAP LVM.
So based on what I’ve shown you through examples, some workloads will require more management than others. But it is the ability to move between environments with integrated service management and a common management platform that will allow you to have a differentiated cloud platform. And the way that we are offering our services is through the IBM SmartCloud is the common IBM architecture and platform for private, public and hybrid clouds and is based on IBM hardware, software, services and best practices. It will enable clients to build clouds to their own specification to define key parameters. The new IBM SmartCloud can enable organizations, their employees and partners, to get what they need, as they need it – from advanced analytics and business applications to IT infrastructure like virtual servers and storage or access to tools for testing software code - all deployed securely across IBM’s global network of cloud data centers. The SmartCloud will delver two tiers of capability that our clients required. They are specifically designed to provide the cloud environments enterprise clients’ desire and have been waiting for… Enterprise – Rapid access via the internet -- ideal for developing and deploying new application designs – this environment provides for instant access to standard server configurations, and a catalog of IBM and partner software. In addition it provides an hourly pay-per-use model and the most advanced administrative functions in the industry. With the Enterprise platform you can realize the benefits of a shared multitenant cloud without compromising the management and control you require. Available today and expanding on our existing Development and Test Cloud allowing customers to expand on internal development and test efforts with reduction of application development tasks from days to minutes via automation and rapid provisioning with over 30% reduction in costs versus traditional application environments. This offering is available immediately. Enterprise + -- The Enterprise+ represents a true production cloud for our clients’ most critical applications whether it is the migration of complex ERP applications or running higher availability, data intensive workloads. The Enterprise+ platform provides for a fully managed cloud deployment model ensuring enterprise class service delivery. It provides that SLA and levels of isolation differentiated from other cloud environments. To be made available later this year, Enterprise + will complement and expand on the value of Enterprise, offering brand new capabilities provide a core set of multi-tenant services to manage virtual server, storage, network and security infrastructure components including managed operational production services. As I mentioned earlier, the SmartCloud is built on a common cloud management platform which means you will have the ability to manage your deployments through once service delivery portal across these two platforms. This portability is critical to our clients and since it is built on a standards-based open architecture applications can easily integrate and migrate back and forth from your traditional IT to our Cloud environments.
This slide gives an overview of the services and the pricing model that we have in place. The main service that we are offering is a full-service SAP production landscape, which can provide one production system and one or two development or quality assessment (QA) environments. The service scope is fully managed, meaning we are responsible for everything that is related to SAP Basis. Pricing is based on monthly recurring charge without any setup fees. For landscapes, we have a set of Basis T-shirt sizes, from extra small to extra large. We offer these as basic forms, but you can add additional SAPS to the systems to match your SAP landscape requirements. There are additional managed SAPS that can be provisioned on demand, so to each of the systems you can add additional SAPS, 2200 or 4400 or 6600 or 10450 or 12100, depending on your requirements. We can also offer standalone SAP non-production systems. For those systems we can offer a variety of service scopes including the full service scope, development service and entry service. Development and entry service levels are reduced levels of service that depend on what the customer actually requires, and accordingly the monthly recurring charges can be lower. We can also provide a minimum service term of just one month. Customer on-boarding and other optional SAP services, including SAP database (DB) migration, SAP DB refresh, SAP system copy, can be availed at a one-time charge (price per action).
