The planning helped the student and Curtis in the production stages as most of their ideas from planning were used. The storyboard gave them guidance on actor and prop placement. Planning helped them gain a broader understanding of what was needed. The shot list provided guidance on camera usage.
The student created the shot list and Curtis wrote the script. The student operated the camera while Curtis directed. They both came up with the idea to use certain lights. Post-production was led by Curtis for editing and the student added audio.
Camerawork like close-ups and panning added intensity suited for the genre. Editing removed unusable clips to look more professional. Background music and gunshot sounds added tension and danger. Costuming

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

How did planning help in the production stages?
The planning helped me in my production stages because most of the ideas that me and
Curtis had thought of were used, this meant that we could use nearly every piece of
planning due to it being extremely relevant with what we was trying to create in the actual
production stage. The main piece of planning that was used in the production was the story
board as this gave us an idea of where all the actors and props should be situated this was
very effective due to me and Curtis practically trying to bring the pictures to life. The
planning allowed me and Curtis to gain further knowledge on how to create an effective
production filmtrailer, this allowed us to think of more ideas because the planning helped
us to have a broader understanding of what we needed to do. The planning part of the film
trailer especially the shot list meant that we had an understanding of what types of ways
the camera should be used which made the production more effective.
My Contribution to planning, production and post-production?
My contribution to the planning was that I created the shot list and Curtis came up with the
script this allowed me more time to focus on what we needed and it allowed the script to be
done to the best of Curtis’ ability. The main piece of planning that was created was the shot
list this was due to this being the main bit that was going to make the production look
effective. The production was directed by Curtis, he told all the characters where to stand
and I was the camera man as I had known the shot types because I had created the shot list,
this would hopefully make it more effective. We used certain lights to make the characters
stand out we both came up with the idea of that as it was extremely conventional for what
genre of trailer we was trying to create. The post production was done mainly by Curtis as
he wanted to edit he mainly done the slow motion which made the trailer look effective and
I did a few bits cutting mainly and audio was added by me as I felt that, that was my
strongest area.
How have you made effective use of the technical elements?
Camerawork: The camerawork that was used mainly consisted of the close up, mid shot,
over the shoulder shot and panning, as these angles made the whole production stage seem
a lot more intense and this is stereotypical for the type of filmthat we was going to be
creating. The camera work mainly helped us to create an intense movie trailer due to this
being stereotypical to the genre of trailer we was trying to create.
Editing: The editing consisted of cutting pieces of the clips that we didn’t want within the
actual film, this helped it to look more effective due to it looking a lot more professional, the
main reason why it was cutted was due to it not being to a good enough standard to be
2. shown in the real thing. Another piece of editing that was use was the slow motion tool on
adobe premiere elements, this helped us to build up the tension within the filmtrailer and it
meant that it was more effective due to it being more intense.
Sound: The sound that was used were mainly background music so it made it a lot more
intense due to it adding the sense of danger to the hostages, this allowed it to look more
effective and also sound more effective to the audience. The other piece of sound that was
used in the production of the filmtrailer was the sound of a gunshot, this connoted to the
audience that the hostages were in danger and this was effective because it made the whole
situation seema lot more intense.
Mise-en-scene: The mise-en-scene that was used in the film trailer was extremely effective
in the way that the hostages were very stereotypical to the genre that we was trying to
create from the filmtrailer, also the hostage taker was wearing a suit this showed that he
had a sense of power over the hostage due to him being in more powerful clothing than the
hostages that were just wearing casual clothes. The props that were used in the production
of the film trailer was gags to show that the hostages were in danger but also it made it
intense for the audience due to them not being able to speak and they were in control of
the situation. The gun made the capturer of the hostages and the whole scene seem more
intense due to the capturer having the power which is stereotypical to the genre of trailer
that we was going to be creating.
What skills do you need to improve on before beginning your A2 production?
The skills that I will need to improve on before starting my A2 production is that I need to
start to get more used to the adobe premiere format for editing, as it is the most technical
element within the production. Also I will try to improve on the setting and lighting of my
production as it was slightly dark before or the light was too over whelming for this reason I
will take all the aspects into prospective. The final improvement that I will try to make whilst
thinking about doing the A2 production is trying to use different actors to be in the
production due to them being more stereotypical to the scene that I am trying to create, as
it will make it a lot more realistic.
