Science learning: the analogue versus the digital, Sai PathmanathanBrussels, Belgium
Most science is learned informally outside of school through activities like visiting museums and aquariums or watching educational programming. Schools account for only 5% of people's science learning, while informal activities are a much more potent source of public understanding. The document discusses using analog experiences and a sense of wonder to empower children's learning, rather than making them feel stupid if they don't understand something. It suggests that digital natives may find analog experiences wondrous.
The document is an invitation letter for the WEXPLORE China 2011 program, which offers educational tours and experiences across China. The programs include exploring the Silk Road, visiting Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an, a trip to the tropical island of Hainan, and participating in the WEMUNC conference in Beijing. The letter emphasizes that WEXPLORE China aims to provide unique learning experiences about China's history, culture, politics and economy through interactive activities and excursions led by specialized staff. Safety is the top priority for the program.
The document discusses digital storytelling. Some key points include:
- Storytelling is a social and cultural activity of sharing stories through various media to educate and build community.
- Effective storytelling uses techniques like narrative structure, characters, point of view, drama and visual elements.
- New digital tools allow for interactive and immersive storytelling experiences through games, VR/AR, social media and mobile applications.
- Museums can use storytelling to make collections more engaging and meaningful by putting people and their motivations and emotions at the center.

The document discusses several key aspects of designing educational spaces and experiences to enhance learning. It notes that providing advance organizers allows learners to understand what is important and focus on learning. Humans respond unconsciously to physical environments, being drawn to features like prospect, refuge, mystery, color, light and texture. Good design considers different user types and needs to make spaces easy to use and comprehend, while bad design has the opposite effect. Memories form over time through reinforcement, with subsequent experiences becoming part of people's memories of the educational experience.
Revisiting Interpretive Planning; A Holistic Approach to Crafting Your Visito...Stephanie Weaver
How much of interpretive planning is truly holistic in its' approach to creating a quality visitor experience? Before visitors are able to absorb the benefits and messages of well-designed interpretation, they must have all earlier concerns addressed like finding amenities, navigating through the grounds, and having well-trained front-line staff to respond to their needs or questions. If we fail to look more broadly at our visitors’ needs and how our infrastructure and services help or hinder visitation, interpretation is less likely to succeed.
Mary Kay Cunningham, Stephanie Weaver, Robin Cline, Wendy Meluch reflect on past models of interpretive planning and share ideas for creating information networks (or communication strategies), conducting visitor studies, and lessons learned from case studies where these ideas were applied.

Museum Experience as defined by John Falk & Lynn Dierking 2013Reinwardt Academie
This document discusses factors that influence a museum visitor's experience from three contexts: personal, social, and physical.
The personal context includes the visitor's motivations, interests, prior knowledge, and emotional connection to the content. The social context considers how learning is often a social process, and how interactions with other visitors and museum staff shape the experience.
The physical context examines elements of the museum environment like signage, wayfinding, exhibition design, interactive elements, and amenities that affect the visitor's experience from their initial planning to interacting with the exhibits and other areas of the museum.
This is a power point intended to allow groups to talk about space considerations when building or changing their museum building. It is only an orientation and not a complete one but gets staff to understand that architectural space planning is really a common sense narrative that they can accomplish with the aid of a sympathetic architect.

Wees ‘ns eerlijk, kennen jullie je klant of prospect écht? Parallelsessie door Paul Hassels Mönning op Lumido event in Leusderend.
Harder 'duwen' is zinloos anno nu in B2B marketing & sales.

11. THERE ARE NO RULES THERE IS NO CONTACT THERE IS LIMITED INFO WELCOME TO…………………… …………… .THE PITCH-JUNGLE
13. Initiatieffase Fasering Omschrijving werkzaamheden Beslisdocument(en) / resultaat INITIATIEFFASE Inhoudelijke lijn "idee" (samen of opdrachtgever) Missie museum Definitie van doelgroepen en doelstellingen tentoonstelling Projectorganisatie en communicatielijnen aangeven Programmatische randvoorwaarden tentoonstelling Doelstellingen educatie en marketing/pr Grove afbakening thema's Bepaling ruimte en randvoorwaarden ruimte Grove indeling & routing Lijst met mogelijk te gebruiken aanwezige hardware museum Budgetbepaling (tevens exploitatiebudget) PRESENTATIE & GOEDKEURING Tentoonstellingsconcept Budget
“ The feel it in the air” session. Halve vraag? Kwart antwoord. Shit in = shit out
Staat men er volledig achter?
20. Be SMART and FUZZY ‘ Volgens het boekje’ en SMART hoort erbij. Randvoorwaarden nummer 1.
So, let’s keep on shaping and work on it!
