3. INTRODUCTION
● Maruti Suzuki India Limited , formerly
known as Maruti Udyog Limited, is an
automobile manufacturer in India.
● It is a subsidiary of Japanese automobile and
motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki Motor
Corporation.
Founded: 1982
Headquarters: Delhi
Key People: R.C. Bhargava (Chairman)
Kenichi Ayukawa (MD & CEO)
Parent Company: Suzuki Motor Corporation
4. Engine Oil Replace
● Change engine oil at the vehicle
manufacturer’s recommended service
interval that matches vehicle’s operating
conditions and driving habits.
● Make sure to check vehicle manual for the
correct viscosity.
● Engine oils:- 5W30, 5W40, 10W40
5. OIL FILTER REPLACE
● Car manufacturers often suggest changing
oil filters with every oil change, which
should occur every 3,000 miles or three
months (whichever comes first).
● Need to be changed:- Dirty or clogged oil
filters allow contaminants to sail straight to
engine where they can cause damage as
well as affect fuel economy.
6. Air Filter Replace
● Check the filter regularly to keep your car
breathing at maximum efficiency by keeping
the dust out.
● Change the Filter every 50,000 km or about
once a year. If we drive in a dusty area, it will
need replacement more often.
● Recommend having AirFilter checked during
every oil change or aspart of your normal
maintenance schedule & get it replaced.
7. Brake Pad Replace
● On average, most brake pads will last about
50,000 miles.
● Don’t wait for one of these below signs to
become evident. Check brade pads every
12,000 miles or 12 months.
SIGNS TO PEPLACE BRAKE PAD:-
1. Grinding, scraping, or squealing noises when applying the brakes.
2. It takes longer than normal to come to a complete stop.
3. Vehicle vibration when brakes are applied.
4. Less than a quarter inch of brake pad.
8. Belt Check
● A drive belt is the part that drives all the
accessories such as an alternator, power
steering, car’s water pump, air conditioning
compressor etc.
● Serpentine belts: A serpentine belt, also
known as a multi-vee, poly-v or multi-rib
belt, is a single, continuous belt used to
drive multiple peripheral devices in an
automotive engine.
● The belt itself is driven by a pulley
attached to the engine crankshaft.
● Drive belt is replaced between 40,000 and
70,000 miles.
9. Spark Plug Check
● Spark plug deliver an electric spark that
starts combustion inside the cylinders of a
gasoline-powered engine.
● Overtime the tip and the electrode wear out
and gap between them increases.
● A failed ignition coil or cable will cause an
engine to misfire.
● It is recommended to replace all spark plugs
if one of the ignition coils fail.
10. Wheel Balancing
● Wheel balancing is something which is strictly concerned with the wheel and
the tyre correlation. It refers to correcting the imbalance between The weights
of the wheel and the tyre. Balancing is always done alongside wheel alignment
to keep the weight and alignment coordination in sync.
● Maintaining a balanced weight in the wheel/tyre combination is significant for a
smooth and stable drive, less tyre wear and eliminating vibrations. Unbalanced
tyres increase the risk of wheel and suspension damage massively.
11. ● Tyre moulding may not be fitted concentric on the wheel rim.
● Buckled wheel rim.
● Tyre walls, crown tread thickness may be non uniform.
● Over or under inflation of tyre may cause uneven wear across the tread.
Factors responsible for an imbalance of the mass distribution around the wheel:
12. Wheel Alignment
● Wheel alignment mainly consists of adjusting the
angles of wheels to the car manufacturer
specifications.
● The purpose of these adjustments is to reduce
tyre wear and to ensure that vehicles travel is
straight and true.
Need of Wheel Alignment:-
Uneven tread wear
Vehicle pulling to the left or right
Steering wheel is off center when driving straight
13. Conclusion
● The industrial training program at Maruti Suzuki Service Center provides
trainees with valuable skills and experience in vehicle repair and
maintenance.
● Safety is a top priority at the service center, and trainees are required to
follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
● Trainees will have the opportunity to learn how to diagnose and repair a
variety of vehicle systems, including engines, electrical systems, and brake
systems.
Key Insights and Tips for Success
Editor's Notes
