This document outlines a study on the effects of Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) and healthcare initiatives on poverty in developing countries. It presents three hypotheses: 1) SAPs will have a negative effect on poverty levels, 2) SAPs will have a positive effect on poverty levels, and 3) SAPs with healthcare initiatives will have a positive effect on poverty. The unit of analysis is developing countries from the initiation of SAPs to present. Independent variables are measures of SAPs and healthcare spending, and dependent variables are measures of poverty levels.
