 It’s a method of language learning/teaching that combine various
approaches and methodologies to teach lessons depending on
the aims of lesson and understanding of the learners.
 It is also know as “mixed methods”.
 There is more flexibility in this approach to choose best
elements according to the aims and level of students.

 Rivers is the main proponent of this approach amd he suggested
that: to absorb the best technique of all the well known
language teaching methods into their classroom procedure
uses them for the purposes for which they are more
