The document introduces the POWER Start method for effectively structuring and focusing Scrum meetings. POWER Start stands for Purpose, Outcomes, What's in it for Me/We, Engage, Roles and Responsibilities. It provides a POWER Start template for each of the Scrum events - Planning I & II, Daily, Refinement, Review, and Retrospective - with the purpose, outcomes, engagement statement, and roles for each. clarified and all team members have a
common understanding of the objectives.
Engage
Achieving a common understanding of the tasks
to be performed.
Outcomes
Finally, the product backlog was prioritized
for the planning of the team. All backlog
items were estimated.
Roles & Responsibilities
Scrum Master keeps track of the process and
tracks whether all team members have
understood the objectives of the tasks. He is
responsible for the adherence to the agreed
process and the communication between the
participants.
Team members should ask questions about
ununderstood tasks on their own responsibility
and create a common understanding.
Product Owner organizes the event and is
responsible for the preparation of the backlog.
He takes over the final prioritization of the tasks.
What’s in it for me?
By clarifying ambiguities, misunderstandings
