The skeletal system has five main functions: support, protection, movement, shape, and blood cell production and storage of mineral salts. It provides structure and support for muscles and organs, protects vital organs like the brain with bones like the skull, allows movement at joints with the help of muscles, gives the body its overall shape along with other factors, and produces red and white blood cells and stores minerals like calcium in the bones.
