The Bisalpur Dam Major Irrigation Project was constructed in the 1990s by the Rajasthan state government to supply irrigation water to the Sawai Madhopur and Tonk districts, as well as drinking water to Ajmer, Jaipur, and Tonk. The 574 meter long, 39.5 meter high dam has 17 gates to release water and supplies irrigation to over 81,800 hectares of land. In addition to irrigation and water supply, the Bisalpur Dam is also used for fisheries and is a tourist attraction.

Vyas Importance of Bisalpur Dam 1. The Bisalpur dam reservoir supplies irrigation water to the Sawai Madhopur and Tonk districts.It also supplies drinking water to the Ajmer, Jaipur and Tonk districts. About the project • The Bisalpur dam was constructed in the 1990s by the Rajasthan state government. • The dam is 574 m in length and 39.5 m in height and there are 17 gates to release water. 2. Bisalpur Dam Jaipur is built acroos the Banas River its another importance tourists attraction. 3.First filling :2004/315.50 4. Bisalpur dam is used for Fisheries. • Water supply:- Ajmer, Beawar, Kishangarh town since 1994 & Jaipur & enroute villages since 12/2008 Isarda Dam:- will provide drinking water in the second phase of project to 2547 villages and 11 towns. Isarda Dam constructed at Sawai Madhaputr second major project of Rajasthan will benefit Alwar, Jaipur, Dausa • Bisalpur dam total capacity 1,100,000,000 m3 (891,785 acre⋅ft). • Irrigation:- 81800 Ha, This year Dam received 28.385 TMC Water & Irrigation facilities will be provided in Rabi 2014-15 Major Irrigation Projects: A project having a cultivable command area(CCA) of more than 10,000 hectares. Medium Irrigation Projects: A project having CCA between 2000 and 10,000 hectares. Minor Irrigation: A project with is designed to irrigate an area of 2000 hectares or less is classified as a minor irrigation. Supervised by: Dr. J.K. Vyas
