This document summarizes a study analyzing the relationship between climate and vegetation in eastern Africa. The study used NDVI and rainfall data from 1996-2009 to identify breakpoints and changes in coherence between climate and vegetation over time for different regions of Ethiopia. The results showed significant breakpoints in 2000, 2002, and 2004/2005 for several districts. These changes were linked to drought, flooding or sociological factors like displacement of refugees. Wavelet analysis also identified temporal changes in coherence between rainfall and NDVI. An interactive map was created with Google Earth to disseminate the findings.
