This document is a historical study on Sri Lanka's pre and post-colonial socioeconomic, ethnic, and leadership issues, focusing on the civil war and its aftermath. It employs a qualitative methodology to analyze the country's history from the 6th century BC to 2009, addressing factors influencing ethnic unity, governance, and colonial impacts. The research highlights how past events and leadership decisions shape the current socio-political landscape and stresses the necessity for understanding history to prevent future conflicts.
