2. For this project you will need some background information
Pop-Art- an art style from the 1960’s that was inspired by popular culture. (Everyday stuff)
The country went through major changes after World War Two! Factories, Television,
commercials, brand names, and teenage music were sweeping the nation!
Pop-Artists created work that reflected society at that time. It also made fun of how
commercial, and“plastic“ society had become.
Andy Warhol made a fortune by mass producing his art. (making lots of copies of the same
picture) . No one had ever done that before. Claes Oldenburg’s massive sculptures are all over
the world today, and helped to fulfill his dream of making art accessible to everyone.
