Introduction to Polycarbonate
In 1953, polycarbonate (PC) was discovered independently by Dr. H.Schnell
of Bayer AG, Germany and by D.W. Fox of General Electric
Company USA.
By 1958, Bayer Germany had begun producing polycarbonates with a brand
name Makrolon
In the U.S such as General Electric with a brand name Lexan and Dow
Chemical had also begun the production process.
Since then, it has been proved to be some of the best materials in domestic
and industrial applications.

Thermal Insulation
u-values aslow as 0.83W/m2K and helps to reduce
the carbon footprint of a building
The multiwall structure of PC Sheets provides a thermally insulating
glazing material which brings natural light into a building whilst reducing
heat loss (U-Value) through the glazing. This contributes to a more
energy efficient
structure.

PC-UV400 Co-Extruded Coating
Polycarbonate(PC) sheets use optical grade PC-UV400 coating which is Co-
extruded on top of the UV included Base Material.
Co-Extrusion is a process that ensures an evenly spread, evenly thick base
material and UV coating - A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link.
Our Covestro (formerly Bayer Material Science) Optical Grade UV400 master-
batches are processed by Clariant Swiss, which blocks harmful UV rays from
280~400nm.
With the help of Optical Grade PC-UV400 co-extruded coating, Polycarbonate
(PC) sheets lasts longer - Warranted for 5 years without discoloration and a
minimum of 10 years without breakage when installed correctly, has better
weather resistance properties, and most of all, protect humans and living
organisms from harmful ultraviolet rays. Our machines use only the best co-
extrusion dies from the industry leading OMIPA Spi, Italy
