About Sound . wav  - a format developed by Windows and used extensively on Windows operating systems  . mp3  - audio format that compressed sound with minimal loss of quality  (i.e. audio file size is a lot smaller as an .mp3 compared to a .wav). This is the most popular sound format for music.

Streaming Technique for transferring data such that it can be processed as a steady and continuous stream.  The client browser or plug-in (WMV, QuickTime, Flash) can start displaying the data before the entire file has been transmitted.
Streaming Audio – Moodle In Editing Mode, select "Add Link to File or Web Site" from the Resource menu from the content block where you want to add the link to the media file. On the Edit page, click the "Choose or upload a file" button. A new window will pop up with the files area directory structure. Either upload the media file or if you uploaded it previously, find the file you want to add in the files area. Click the "Choose" link. The Files window will close, and the path to the file will be entered into the filename. The name of the resource will now be an active link in the content block.MP3 files are automatically embedded in a streaming player made with Flash.

Podcasting Method of distributing audio to users through subscription to  audio  feeds online  Feeds can also be used to deliver audio content (usually in MP3 format) which you can listen to on your computer or MP3 player. This is referred to as  podcasting .
Podcasting audio files downloaded automatically to a computer or mobile MP3 device.   subscribe  (mostly free of charge) to a podcast, and then as new audio files become available (episodes), they are  automatically downloaded  to our computer.
Podcasting and Feeds A feed,  also known as  RSS feed ,  XML feed ,  syndicated content , or  web feed , is frequently updated content published by a website.  U sually used for news and blog websites, but can also be used for distributing other types of digital content, including pictures, audio or video.
Podcasting and Feeds RSS feeds can also be used to subscribe to blogs, wikis, websites with a news delivery function and social bookmarking sites. Trainers can selectively release podcasts and blog materials to learners by encouraging learners to use RSS feeds. Audio Files can easily be recorded using sound recording software that enable mixing in of multiple voices, sound effects and music.
Audacity is a free, easy-to-use audio editor and recorder for a variety of operating systems

Lets make a podcast - Planning Script/Plan  material/topic  – have a clear purpose 2-3  minutes  maximum Variety of voices   Consider mixing up the audio presentation through the use of narrative, question and answer, interviews and guest speakers
Lets make a podcast - Recording D esktop computers /Laptop sound cards   Personal Digital Recorders Consider  an external microphone.   (Hold it Steady) For podcasts with spoken voice only, the quality does not need to be that high for effective podcasts.
