Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) needed to expand their IT infrastructure to support increased workloads while facing budget cuts. They consolidated their systems onto three IBM Power 520 Express servers running AIX and PowerVM virtualization. This reduced costs through lower licensing, maintenance, facilities and energy expenses while improving disaster recovery. and energy consumption. And because of the virtualized environment, the
company was able to reduce their current license needs by more than half and
avoid incurring costs for nine new Oracle Enterprise Edition licenses.
