J&B Group, a Minnesota-based food distribution company, was facing challenges with server sprawl taking up too much space and making management difficult. They implemented a virtualization solution using IBM xSeries servers and VMware software. This consolidated 20 physical servers onto one xSeries server, reducing costs and space needs. The new solution improved manageability, availability, and recoverability of applications and data. J&B expects to see a return on investment in less than a year from savings in maintenance costs and reduced need for new servers.
