Discrimination In Race By Marc Aronson
Freedom from Discrimination
Today, India is a free country, but this country s history to freedom was not pleasant. Britain, a country
that occupied many territories, came to conquer India for its valuables. During this time, they treated
Indians poorly and stole all the goods of the country to trade. This rule continued for nearly two
hundred years, and India struggled to fight for freedom from 1857 to 1947. On August 15, 1947, India
finally gained its independence through the India Independence Act passed by the British House of
Common. The British House of Commons is the UK parliament that is part of the legislative branch.
The act stated that India would be divided into two dominions, India and Pakistan, thus granting
Pakistan independence on August 14 and Indian independence on August 15. Marc Aronson, in his
book Race, explores and examines the concept of race where the reasoning behind racial
discrimination can be seen. Aronson provides the four pillars of race, which show an ideology behind
racism that occurs universally. During the British rule in India, the British racially discriminated
Indians. As a result of the discrimination, Britain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Government of UK in a national archive mentions about specific goods that were traded during
the rule over India. These specific goods helped in the political benefit of Britain. The national archive
states:
India, a densely populated place with long established civilisations, had a long history of contact with
Europe. The main contact between Britain and India was in trade. This really began to develop during
the 1600s, when the East India Company was created, a private company owned by wealthy and
important figures in Britain. The Company had a monopoly of trade between Britain and Asia. The
main goods traded were cotton, silk and tea. However, spices and gems were also important

Cattell Sixteen Personality Factor Model
The investigation of primary traits lead to the basic definition of individual personality differences.
These particular primary traits are more influential in predictability and understanding the complexity
of human behaviour. The study lead to the foundation of R. Cattell s Sixteen Personality Factor Model
(16PF). The Sixteen Personality Factors Test has 160 questions in total, 10 questions relating to each
personality factor. The aims of 16PF is to measure personality based upon sixteen source traits
summarizes the surface traits as descriptors in connection to source traits within a high and low range.
Cattell ranked the traits in a hierarchy of importance to the ability of predicting human behaviour.
Hence, R. Cattell. (1933, 1946) cited in Cattell Mead (2008) stated that the 16PF Questionnaire is a
multi level measure of personality established on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most recognizable criticism of Cattell s Sixteen Personality Factor Model is that regardless of
numerous efforts the theory has never been completely reproduced. According to Howarth and Brown
s (1971) founding s, there was ten factors that were unsuccessful to relate to characteristics presented
in the 16PF model. Researchers stated that the model does not measure the factors at the primary level
as it supposed to (Fehriinger, 2004). Additionally, Sell et al. (1970) and Eysenck and Eysenck (1969)
as well failed to confirm primary level of the 16PF (Schuerger, Zarrella, Hotz, 1989 cited in
Fehriinger, 2004). Furthermore, there is an assumption that during Cattell s investigation certain error
arise as, all the calculations were done manually causing skewed data and consequently the
incapability to replicate the structure of the research. Additionally, it would appear that primary factors
are not constant to procedure a foundation for the model (Cooper.

Embryo Rescue Lab Report
EMBRYO RESCUE
KALENA OFFICE HORT 447 ADVANCED PLANT PROPAGATION
Introduction
This lab is intended to provide information about the process of embryo rescue. In this lab the embryo
will be scrapped out from under the seed coat and endosperm and placed in hormone free MS media.
This lab will record the of growth process in vitro.
Material: Wayfaringtree Viburnum seeds, dissecting microscope, scalpel, forceps
Wayfaringtree Viburnum (Viburnum lantana) was used in this lab to conduct the growth of an embryo
rescue on hormone free (0/0 WPM). The seeds that were provided first be treated with a concentration
of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) for about twenty five minutes. This process will both sterilize and soften to

Results
This lab will record the growth process of embryo rescue in a hormone free media.
The results on the percentages of attempts that resulted in the isolation of an intact embryo was 33%.
This is due to the fact that this was the first time that I performed an embryo rescue, and made a few
mistakes along the way. The first mistake that occurred was that I cut too deep into the endosperm,
and cut into the embryo itself (a few times). Another mistake that was made was that I found it hard to
cut into the seeds while using the forceps, without losing the seed.
The percentage of intact embryos that developed into a plant was 33%, meaning the only one out of
the three sprouted.
The changes that occurs during the progression from dormant embryo to active growth is that the
crown becomes a reddish color, which is that is appeared on most Wayfaringtree Viburnum. The red
crown is due to the flavonoids that are apparent in the molecular structure.
Since Wayfaringtree Viburnum has to go through the cold stratification to break dormancy, the
mechanism practice that would have to take place would have to be a type of refrigeration or freezing
process. This process is done for 8 10 weeks of holding temperature of 4° C. These orthodox seed will
be placed in a refrigerator to break dormancy, and will continue to have continuous

Growing Up Case Study
Like their parents, Josh and Joey undertake physical changes due to the economic slump. Josh
becomes thin and malnourished. While Josh is exposed to the ominous nation, he is deprived of food.
Josh is not able to eat properly therefore, he becomes thin and frail. Additionally, the boys stay outside
in the freezing winds with no place to stay. Consequently, Josh develops pneumonia; he has a high
fever and is incredibly weak. Not only did Josh turn out to be frail, but also Joey became extremely
thin. Joey was a frail and sickly baby, along with the lack of nutrients it made him even thinner than
before. Joey is malnourished and not properly eating because of the lack of food. Both young boys try

GPE Case Study
In contrast to the belief of Sanocki (1933) and Pomerantz (1983), of their being either simultaneous
use of global and local processing at different times or them occurring at their own respective times,
Hughes, Layton, and Baird (1984) support the GPE. During Hughes, Layton, and Baird s experiment,
subjects were asked to classify patterns in orientations to test the theory of GPE. In the figure
orientations, they were specified for either the global (cluster orientation) or the local (line orientation)
spatial domain. The single dimension control stimuli illustrated in the experiment were designed to
evaluate reaction times to the local and global cues independently. All three pattern types are equated

global to local based on one s level of field dependency. The experiment conducted by Pore, Pineau,
Jobard, and Mellet (2008) consisted of each procedure being the same for all participants and them
tested individually. First, participants were administered the GEFT, in accordance with standardized
instructions: After seven practice items, participants had to trace with a pen the outline of one of eight
simple shapes in each of 18 complex figure items. The test was time limited and scored by assigning a
value of 0 or 1 for inaccurate and accurate responses, respectively. Accuracy scores, which could
range from 0 to 18, were recorded. Low and high GEFT scores correspond to FD and FI, respectively.
Subsequently, participants were presented with the global local task using a personal laptop computer
with a 15 in.screen at a resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels (width and height, respectively) running
Superlab software applications (Cedrus Corporation, San Pedro, CA).Participants sat in front of the

The Good The Bad And Your Business
In The Good, the Bad, and Your Business, Jeffery Seglin explains that managers in today s business
world must not only deal with situations pertaining to the workplace, but also make more complicated
decisions regarding their employees personal lives.
Seglin explains that the best managers treat those below them on the corporate ladder not as
subordinates, but as equals. He cites a Gallop Organization study which revealed that employees who
feel cared about, that their opinion matters, and that their companies are family friendly will not only
be happier, but will perform better. This being said, a manager merely saying he values his employees
is not sufficient; rather, the employees must sense that there is substance to the manager s claims.
Similarly, Seglin references Kenneth Goodpaster, who believes that companies have a moral
obligation to avoid harming their employees directly, help employees in need, and respect the rights of
their employees. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The CEO is tasked with weighing his personal obligation to be there for his employee versus any
damage the employee has done to the company. Giving the employee another chance as long as he
seeks treatment follows the team oriented culture of the organization by supporting an employee in a
tough time. In other words, the CEO decided to practice what he preaches regarding caring for his
employees. Unfortunately, the consultant relapses and costs the company once again. This time, the
company has a plan. They have policies in place, and put him on short term disability and in a live in
rehabilitation center. The CEO decides to invest company time and money to rehabilitate him, rather
than terminating him. While this is done with the best intentions, it is a dangerous path. It requires
managerial discretion because if it fails, it is costly both monetarily (for the company) and emotionally

Persuasive Essay Soup
As the weather begins to cool and the leaves begin to change, you start wanting foods that will help
warm you up. Soup comforts people and you can eat it year round. When you become sick, you turn
to soup to help make you feel better. Many people believe that soup cures illnesses. Knowing how to
make the soup can act as the biggest challenge. It is not easy, but, after you make it a couple of times,
you can become a professional at it. Once you master making homemade soup, you will never want to
go back to eating it from a can.
A popular soup that you might like is potato soup. To do this, you need to buy all of the ingredients
first. You will need to buy a package of one pound regular cut bacon, a white onion, a container of
butter, a large carton of heavy whipping cream, and a five pound sack of potatoes. One you get home
with all of your ingredients, you can begin making the soup. To start, you need to peel and dice about
five pounds of potatoes. Then you can put the potatoes in a large pot and let them boil. While that is
happening, you can begin to work with your bacon.
Slice your bacon into half inch small pieces and dice the onion into little pieces. After you have
everything cut, put them in a pan, and fry them together. When the bacon and onion finish cooking,
the bacon should look crispy and the onion should look transparent. After the components are fully
cooked, remove all of the grease from the pan.
Now you can go back to your potatoes, carefully grip the

Wireless Networks Can Be Broadly Classified Into Three...
Wireless Networks can be broadly classified into three categories: Infrastructure based networks,
Wireless LANs and Ad Hoc Networks. Infrastructure based networks are traditional cellular systems
which require base station infrastructure. Wireless LANs are very flexible within the reception area. It
requires low bandwidth when compared to wired networks. Ad Hoc networks are useful when the
infrastructure is not available, impractical or expensive to build.
In Cellular Wireless, spaces are divided into cells. Each cell consists of base stations which is
responsible to communicate with the hosts in its cell. Hosts moves from one cell to cell to another and
hand off occurs, the new base station takes care of the communication. In Multi hop wireless, mobility
causes a change of route. Hence it need to traverse multiple links to reach destination. Ad hoc network
is a self organizing multi hop wireless network, which relies neither on infrastructure nor on the
predetermined connectivity.
Rapid deployment of mobile users will be the need for the next generation wireless communication
systems. A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of mobile users that communicate over constrained
wireless links with lower bandwidth. Network scenarios which include establishing dynamic
communication for emergency/rescue operations, survivable, efficient, disaster relief efforts and
military networks cannot rely on organized and centralized connectivity. Networks are known as ad
hoc because

Racing Drones
Speed and Efficiency
When it comes to drones, no two flights are the same. From variable wind speeds and air density to
propeller count and battery output, each time you head out to the flight field, get ready to experience a
new snowflake. Depending on the type of flying you re planning on doing and the type of speeds you
re looking to achieve, there needs to be some consideration into the gear your drone will be running. A
racing drone needs different props than a videography drone. Heavy drones need more thrust to get up
and stay off the ground, while other, lighter designs require less, which means some variation in the
LiPo used. Drones meant for surveying need to be efficient at low speeds, optimizing their amount of
time spent airborne. For racing drones, overall efficiency at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If you ve ever been outside, you know that air flows in a somewhat chaotic and unpredictable way,
even if its overall tendencies are well understood. This means that wings and propellers need to be
tested in wind tunnels in order to get a precise set of efficiency values. In layman s terms, we can say
that the efficiency of a propeller varies depending on how fast air is traveling over the propeller versus
how fast the tips of the propellers are spinning. In aeronautics and marine hydrodynamics, this ratio is

Ben Carson Honesty
In Gifted Hands, Ben Carson, has strived for success and has tried to teach others to also with think
big which he said is a philosophy for success in life, the letters spell out how he strives for success in

talent. Honesty plays a big roll in careers and just life in general, for example when Ben was only
supposed to get a one dollar bill back but the store clerk accidentally gave him a ten dollar bill Ben
had to be truthful and tell her instead of taking the money for himself. Honesty helps Ben in so many
ways but it will also help you because honesty is the key to a easy life and well lying just doesn t get
you anywhere. God was a big part of Ben s journey of becoming a neurosurgeon, you can tell to

An Evaluation Of Finite Duration
Satisfaction is an evaluation of finite duration, made by the customer on product performance of the
same, be it a good or service (Oliver, 1980). This review, according to the author, it tends to turn into a
positive attitude (or not) by the consumer. Tse and Wilton (1988), defined as consumer response to the
evaluation of the discrepancy between the previous and current performance expectations of a product
as perceived after consumption. Oliver (1980) and Selnes (1998) argue that this is an essential variable
to the continuity of a relationship and for future customer retention.
1.1.2. Perceived Quality
This construct is the judgment and perception of consumers about the excellence and global
superiority of a good or service, compared to other competitors. Unlike objective quality, which are
meant to standardize parameters and full functioning (that leads to consumer satisfaction), perceived
quality is an attitudinal element, linked to the perception of significance (Parasuraman et al., 1988) .
Fullerton (2005) indicates that relationships are built with perceived quality as the foundation. This
construct is even stronger when inserted in the service sector, where Kandampully (1998), Hougaard
and Bjerre (2003) point out the superiority of the companies where quality is superior.
1.1.3. Trust
Trust is seen as the most important in building relationships, being essential for achieving retention of
consumers (Crosby et al., 1990; Morgan and Hunt, 1994; Selnes, 1998;

The Failure Of Chartism In The United States
Chartism was a movement that emerged by the working class to achieve parliamentary democracy.
They wanted a voice through democratic participation, and they wanted social and economic reform.
The movement existed from 1838 1858 and they got their name from the People s Charter of 1838.
Chartism evolved for economic and political reasons, such as feeling betrayed by the middle class, and
the Whig government adopting policies that the working class viewed as a betrayal. The fall of
Chartism can be attributed to a divided in the groups interests, an improvement in economic
conditions, and the violence that developed during the movement. Their goals were commendable, but
their strategies were inadequate. Although the Chartists failed to reach their ... Show more content on

One of the reasons for their failure can be attributed to the divide in their methods and structure. Some
of the Chartists believed in peace and peaceful protesting, while others believed in violence and its
power to overcome the the rich and powerful that were running parliament. The movement began with
peaceful petitions and the first petition in July 1839, had over one million signatures on it. When
parliament rejected the petition 235 to 46 some of the Chartist members turned to violence. A man
named John Frost led approximately one thousand armed members in the Newport Rising. When
things turned violent many people were killed of injured, and supporters fled because they were in fear
of loosing jobs, or possibly even getting killed. William Lovett, who was one of the founders of the
movement, left the movement because of the violence that was now being demonstrated by the
Chartists. Economic interests were also improving in the 1840 s and because the economic conditions
were on the rise food and goods were not as expensive. Because of this people were slightly less
concerned about the economy leading to more loss of support for the Chartists. There were also
discrepancies on their third and final petition in 1848. They had lied about the amount of signatures on
the petition, and some of the names listed on the petition were said to be forged or listed more than
once. After that third petition the Chartists were mocked in the newspapers for the lies and forgeries.
Some people were not taking them serious anymore and again, they lost more support. Arguably, the
main causes of their fall was the violence, as well as the rise in economy that made the Chartists lose
steam. Even though they were not successful at that time, in later years some of the Chartist ideas
were incorporated into the Reform Acts of 1867 and

Bourgeoisie And Proletariat Face During The 19th Century
Most present day Western societies are accustomed to a 3 tiered class system: working class, middle
class, and upper class. However, these societies weren t always set up this way. In England and the
United States, for example, during the 18th century, were typically made up of two classes: the
bourgeoisie and the proletariat.
The bourgeoisie was the upper middle class who controlled most of the wealth and power. Unlike the
bourgeoisie, the proletariats were people who weren t wealthy but earned their wages by manual labor
or working in factories. Separate to the bourgeoisie, whose power was associated with the ability to
purchase material objects and plenty of property, the proletariat s only power was derived from their
ability to work.

Seurat is commonly known for being a post impressionist painter whose work did not signify the fluid
and naturalism of impressionism. He used highly calculated geometry to develop his compositions and
perfected the technique of pointillism, a method of placing small dots or brushstrokes made out of
pure color right from the tube of paint. When viewing Seurat s, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of
La Grande Jatte (1884 1886), you recognize the pointillism technique making up the entire
composition, as well as Seurat s reaction to the 19th century social hierarchy in Paris. This colossal
artwork, measuring in at 7x10 feet, shows the day in the life of a bourgeoisie person. The figures
represent a range of bourgeoisie types that would have been easily recognizable to the 19th century
viewer with their confident stance and expensive attire. Unfortunately, many are unsure what Seurat
was trying to translate in this work. One theory believes that Seurat is mocking the barren habits and
unyielding attitudes of the upper middle

Pathos In Lightning Crashes Ethos
When most people think of the circle of life they imagine the Lion King, right? They don t think of
any of the realities that actually do happen. They don t think about the people dying in one room while
one is being born in another. Lightning Crashes by Live embodies the circle of life perfectly. Live is
an American rock band originating for York, Pennsylvania. The song was released in September of
1994 as a single for their album Throwing Copper. Ed Kowalczyk, one of the members of Live,
dedicated this song to a high school friend who passed away from a drunk driving collision. The
friend had donated several organs. This song specifically speaks to how she gave a new life to others
by donating her organs. Kowalczyk has said that he envisioned the music video to be in a hospital,
where there is plenty of deaths and births taking place. Instead of that vision, the video takes place in a
home, giving off a more peaceful feeling and a happy ending atmosphere. The opening of the music
video portrays the image of a new mother giving birth in one room, while in another room an elderly
woman is dying, symbolizing one life being brought into the world as another is taken. Even though
Lightning Crashes does not use the appeal of logos, it displays a strong usage of pathos and offers a
credible source of ethos to draw in its listeners. The song practices several emotional metaphors
throughout the lyrics, the music video displays emotional imagery, and it can relate to outside

The company s creams inventory remains constant because it does not follow a trend in innovation
and changes so often as the other products. The surplus in inventory is a big disadvantage since; last
year s products may not be in style this year in addition to the cost of storage. For all these reasons
their cash flow is less in comparison with previous years causing that Luxor Cosmetics keeps
increasing their bank loans, creating more debt, making it harder to pay out as 2011. In this particular
situation the company could have either decrease its budgeted sales (productions) or increase its actual
sales by improving more effective marketing strategy and research and development of its products in
the markets. This way their inventory would decrease and their cash flow would increase. (Hopkins,

gymnastics like women can. The competitiveness is the same. The quality and skill levels are the
same. Different, of course, but not inferior in any way (Ottoway). Even if a female was better than a
male at a certain sport they would still be treated as inferior. For example a female hockey player,
Rachel Fradette states, even if I was a better athlete than the male hockey players, my team still got
the worse ice time and treated as almost a joke when we practiced...women not only have to fight for
their stance, but they also have to be the absolute best at their craft (Fradette). When girls get treated
this way they then start to lose the love of the sport which leads to less and less role models and less
successful female athletes. These female athlete role models are important for future generations as
girls decide to also become athletes they want someone to look up to and learn from and realize to not
give up even if they are treated

T-Mobile Consumer Compliance Report
A couple of months ago, T Mobile came out with a promotion that you can get two extra lines at no
additional charges, but you just must pay the first month and then you will get a refund of what you
paid extra. It was a perfect promotion for us, my family, to get because my little brother needed a lane
and mom didn t want a line, but since it is for free she can get one. After seeing the promotion, I called
T Mobile customer service to get the lanes. I asked the representative if our bill will increase in any
way and she said yes it will increase by six dollars because I must pay the taxes for those two lanes
and I was fine with that. After she added the lanes she reminded me that I will pay for the full price of
having five lanes on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was okay with that and I agreed to it and was happy about adding two free lanes. The month where
we had to pay extra came and we paid, but the next month we got the same amount as last month
which it should not have been that because this bill was supposed to the bill with the bill credit added.
I called customer service and they apologized for the mistake and they fixed it, which they fixed it and
we paid the reduced bill or out regular bill before the addition of the lanes. Fast forward a month later,
we received the bill and again the bill wasn t the reduced bill. I again called them and they said they
fixed it, but this time it didn t get fixed. The automatic payment took out from my dad s bank account
the larger amount instead of the reduced bill. A month later, the bill came out wrong again and that s
when I decided to write a letter to their complaint department telling them that this is very frustrating
us a lot and that it is making wish that I have never signed up for such promotion in the first place and
was to the point of canceling the account and going somewhere else. In the letter, I asked for
compensation to the extra money we paid. The letter was successful and they gave us our money back
plus a free month as a sorry for the problem. Based on the success of this letter I would write another
letter if there needs to

The GoMo study: a randomized clinical trial assessing neonatal pain with Gomco vs Mogen clamp
circumcision Reviewer: Leya Saju, MS3 Clinical Bottom Line: This study is the first randomized
controlled trial comparing neonatal pain in Mogen circumcision to Gomco clamp since the American
Academy of Pediatrics required in 1999 that all such procedures be performed under anesthesia.
Although both techniques had minimal complications, Mogen circumcision was observed to be faster,
and associated with decreased heart rate as well as mean arterial blood pressure when compared to
Gomco. Furthermore, despite there being no difference in the clinically validated neonatal pain score

Gomco clamp was observed to be associated with a significant increase in post operative heart rate
and mean arterial blood pressure. Table 4 summarizes the CRIES score associated with and duration
of each circumcision technique. Both groups were observed to have the same CRIES score. However,
Mogen clamp was found to be significantly faster than Gomco. Comments: There are several strengths
to this study. This is the largest randomized, controlled, clinical trial comparing neonatal pain between
Gomco and Mogen clamps. Furthermore, by having all the circumcisions be performed by a single
provider group, the authors were able to control for provider confounders. Both procedure protocols
were solely based on the most recent recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
However, as the study was exclusive to healthy and term infants, the results can only be generalized to
this population, not to premature infants or older males. Another limitation is that these observations
are regarding short term outcomes of the procedures, not long term outcomes of Gomco and Mogen
clamp circumcisions. Furthermore, the research nurses who scored the pain were not blinded to the
treatment

Yoga
1.1 Introduction
The word Yoga (/ˈjoʊɡə/) in Sanskrit means to bind, to join, to yoke as well as union, communion.
Traditionally it is a spiritual, mental as well as a physical practice or discipline which originated in
India. In the west yoga is often perceived and taught as a pure physical training.
It thus means the yoking of all the powers of the body, mind and soul to God; it means the disciplining
of the intellect, the mind, the emotions, the will, which that Yoga presupposes; it means a poise of the
soul which enables one to look at life in all its aspects.

1.2 Asanas
Asana practice and yoga practice are not one and the same. Asana is but one part of what yoga is
about. (see 1.1 introduction).
Asana practice covers the main task of hatha yoga (see 1.3 different approaches to yoga) and is the
third part of Patañjali s eight steps to attain the highest state of consciousness.
Traditionally āsana means sitting condition or posture , it contributes to the steadiness of the body and
the mind and to a sense of well being. The term posture does not fully cover the meaning of āsana
though. In a posture the state of mind is not of importance. Postures are created and held below the
level of consciousness. e.g.: involuntary lifting of the shoulders while under stress, although the
person is sitting quite comfortably in a chair.
Asana is acquired voluntarily. A thought process is avoided, one is supposed to concentrate on the
breathing or the universe while maintaining the āsana. In āsanas exercises the muscles, joints and
nerves while being maintained in a steady manner. When āsanas are done accordingly, the eyes are
closed or looking to the ground and the facial muscles are relaxed which contributes to

Case Analysis SBI Kohinoor Business M Essay
Case Analysis, SBI, Kohinoor Business Model
Q: Was the decision to attract ultra HNI customers through a separate dedicated branch a good idea?
A: HNI customers have requirement of privacy, personalised services, and exclusive banking
facilities. The following reasons highlight the need for separate dedicated branch:
It was in keeping with SBI s motto of being the Banker to every Indian . An ultra HNI expects best
and instant service, e.g. banking round the clock. SBI could not have provided the same services at a
branch where non HNI customers also had their accounts, as this would alienate them.
The SBI Kohinoor Banjara branch received many account opening requests within a few days of its
opening. In addition, it also broke even in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SBI ensured that every HNI customer they attracted was not just someone wealthy, but also socially
responsible. This was the unique feature for this branch.
Employee Selection:
Employees were selected on the basis of their location, keenness, past track records and their ability to
perform. This ensured deliverable, exclusive and round the clock banking services feasible.
Training of staff in Financial Planning and Advisory services was not necessary as Customers would
listen to their own advisors first and then to the new SBI managers. Yet, specialized training was
provided to the Employees in Negotiation skills, Product knowledge and etiquette.
Q: Assume that SBI had a strong intention to roll out Kohinoor style branches, how should it have
approached piloting the concept? What should be aim of such tests?
A: The aim of Kohinoor special branches is to attract Ultra High Net worth Individuals (UHNIs) in a
sustainable manner catering to their specific needs. This pilot project will enable to develop a
competitive as well as profitable model for future rollout in cities where UHNI population is high.
The Framework calls for positioning the banking products and services based on the customer s need
to privacy, personalised services, exclusive banking facilities and even other features that went beyond
banking. Following are the ways by which SBI could roll out Kohinoor style Branches:

Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
Since its publication in 1719, Robinson Crusoe has served as a popular adventure novel. The overall
content of the story presents itself as nothing more than adventurous, but after a close reading it
becomes clear that the narrative has an underlying message of colonialism. The novel tells the story of
a European man who gradually gains complete control over an island in the Caribbean. The author,
Daniel Defoe, presents colonialism by portraying the protagonist as someone who slowly and
progressively asserts his dominion over the foreign land. In the novel colonialism is clearly reflected
through the relationship between the colonized and the colonizer. It is through Crusoe s interactions
with Friday that multiple allegorical facets of colonialism such as economic power, psychological
domination, and spiritual belief become evident to the reader.
The relationship between Crusoe and Friday shows the relationship of master and slave. Crusoe
metaphorically represents the imperial figure or colonizer while Friday becomes the metaphor for the
colonized. Robinson however does not fall immediately into his role as colonizer he first has to
establish control over the island itself and learn how to survive. This is why he is fearful and hesitant
when he was exceedingly surprised with the print of a man s naked foot on the shore, which was very
plain to be seen on the sand. (133) The first sign of a civilization other than his own troubles Crusoe
deeply causing him much worry and

The Complete Manual to Suicide
The way our society views other people by their appearance will probably never change. In some
ways, everyone has it set in their mind what makes a person perfect . These characteristics may
include personal appearance, wealth and intelligence. One does not always take the time to get to
know a person, but make assumptions about people. Two poems, which show different views, include
Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson and Barbie Doll by Marge Piercy. In the Barbie doll, the
author writes about a girl s life. The author starts off by describing her childhood. She was given dolls
and toys like any other girl and she also put on some lipstick. This girl ... Show more content on

these poems follow each other in society that exists even today. As a society, we select who we look
up to and who we view as everything. It is from these celebrities that society learns what is beautiful
and girls like in Barbie Doll don t fit in. Everyone saw a fat nose on thick legs, In the end, neither of
these characters win. They both have their own pressures, brought on by the society they live in. These
problems still pervade in our society today. These two poems show that across the board, anyone can
feel pressured into committing suicide. It doesn t matter of the age, gender, or how much money we
have everyone can be screwed up. This often is the pressures and expectations of society to be perfect
like in Barbie Doll, or the man who everyone wants to be. The American dream is to be rich and
famous, to have everyone want to be you. The nightmare of the situation is that you still won t be
happy once you reach this goal. In the same way trying to change something about yourself like the
way you look it will lead you to never be happy as you are. There will always be something to change.
These poems express that the higher you are placed on a scale

Bulimia Nervosa Is An Eating Disorder
Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder that consists of the distortion on one s body image and an
obsessive desire to lose weight. It involves binge eating which is the rapid ingesting of large amounts
of food, commonly followed by vomiting, fasting, or purging that is accompanied by depression. An
individual with bulimia will attempt to avoid weight gain by vomiting or using laxatives, diuretics, or
enemas. It is common to see a bulimic individual restrict their food intake or exercise excessively. The
collective notion of a bulimic is that their self worth and self evaluation is strongly influenced by their
weight or body shape. This disorder is not only mentally damaging but also takes a physical toll on the
body. The physical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While only that 2.6% are actually diagnosed as bulimic, up to 10% of women display symptoms of
bulimia but do not meet the criteria to be diagnosed. Apart from the common misconception that only
women develop eating disorders, it is reported that 10% of bulimics are males. I personally never gave
any thought to males suffering from an eating disorder. I have always perceived that males with extra
weight are more socially acceptable compared to women that carry extra weight, and that commonly
men don t view their image as defining to their value.
An interesting fact that I did not know is that 50% of individuals with an eating disorder abuse drugs
and alcohol. It s not shocking to me that bulimics would abuse drugs and alcohol, not only because it
can be used as an escape from the world and themselves, but also because numerous drugs and alcohol
effect appetite, usually in a negative way, aiding to weight loss. This disorder really is a never ending
cycle. First the body distortion image develops, then the binge eating occurs, followed by guilt that
leads to purging, vomiting, etc., which turns into depression that is commonly coped with through
drugs, alcohol, or food, which in turn starts the cycle over again.
Like most disorders, having a good family and friend support group is important to overcoming or
coping with bulimia. This became evident in this case study based off the fact that Amber felt unable

THE ASPECTS OF FAMILY AND JUVENILE LAW
The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned
Maya Angelou. It is proven that we all feel the safest and most comfortable when we are in our own
homes and in the presence of our family members and loved ones. We feel as if they are the ones that
protect us from the world and everything that we are scared of. It is a common belief that everyone
has a safe home and protective loved ones to go home to every night. Even if they don t live with
parents/ a parent, or the person lives in a foster home, they still have a comfortable place to call home.

I have decided to become a lawyer in the family area because I have an unconditional love for my
family and I believe that family is more important than anything. At the end of the day, when everyone
else lets us down, the only thing we have is family, so we should be able to feel comfortable and safe
around them. Also, I have seen horrible things happen to my loved ones and I want to make sure that I
can prevent it from happening to anyone else. My goal as a family lawyer is to protect as many people
as I can and make sure that they are comfortable and safe.
Family law is defined as the body of rules, practices, and beliefs that govern the home. Its policies
govern all aspects of family life from courtship and child rearing to spousal violence and inheritance.
Family law was first enacted as soon as colonists organized political communities. It didn t get as
popular as it is today until after the beginning of World War II. At this time, women had just began to
enter the workforce. However, an official category of family law emerged a few years after the
Revolution. Women found an avenue that allowed them to consider themselves independent
individuals. Since, the men were considered the bread winners and did all of the work, while the
women sat back and had no say so , they were proud to be independent.
Also, in the 1950s and

The Hysteria of Japanese Descent

this time the american people were lead to believe that people of japanese ancestry were a threat to the
security of the west coast do to wartime hysteria and false accusations of Espionage. When WW2
begin there was a massive fear of an invasion of the west coast do to the fact that many civilians and
aliens were of Japanese descent. These residents were either second or third generations who has
almost lost all ties to their Japanese ancestry. The mass speculations were gathered from evidence of
espionage however the FBI and other agency jumped to conclusions with this evidence. From
Information Bulletin Number 6 there was evidence of a small network of spies located in the west
coast all of whom were of japanese descent. Their assumption that there was a mass underground
network of japanese spies that were fully cable of causing sabotages that would disable the west coast
defense and leave the whole west coast vulnerable to a japanese invasion were all assumptions from
wartime hysteria and a lack of evidence to backup their findings.

Essay about Interior Monologue on Lady Macbeth
First came the pride, an overwhelming sense of achievement, an accomplishment due to great
ambition, but slowly and enduringly surged a world of guilt and confusion, the conscience which I
once thought diminished, began to grow, soon defeating the title and its rewards. Slowly the
unforgotten memories from that merciless night overcame me and I succumbed to the incessant and
horrific images, the bloody dagger, a lifeless corpse. I wash, I scrub, I tear at the flesh on my hands,
trying desperately to cleanse myself of the blood. But the filthy witness remains, stained, never to be
removed.

What possessed me? Why did I assume I could play the role of the almighty? Upon hearing news from
my beloved Macbeth of the witches prophecies I found myself overwhelmed by desire, by greed. I
knew that Macbeth, with his pure and noble disposition would never posses the ambition, the drive, to
make the necessary sacrifices in order to fulfil the glory promising prophecies of the imperfect
speakers. And so, I signed my own death warrant, I poured mine spirits into thine ear , I persuaded my
innocent husband to commit a crime which I and not he, deserved to pay the price for.
I am a murderer. Perhaps the crime was not committed by my hands, but it was intended by my mind.
It was my will that worked through Macbeth when he drew the treacherous blade and plunged it into
the heart of the unsuspecting king. I, his other half, his soul mate, the love of his life, taunted him of
being a coward, questioning his reputable manliness, and like a puppet he moved as I pulled the
strings.
I am lost in the turmoil of my own mind, the faithful spirits that tend on mortal thoughts , deserted me
long ago. I repudiated my fundamental social aspect of being a woman and a wife. I did the
unthinkable and gave away my woman hood, my femininity, my tenderness. And what for? To stop

The Problem Of Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is a country mainly known for the origin of Islam and has two holiest places in the
country. Saudi Arabia is an oil producing country with huge reserve fund and its currency is doing
very good on the financial front. Till early nineties country was in the very good state of the financial
as well as population distribution. Most of the Saudis were working and having very low
unemployment situation. With the increase in the population and educated youth demand for work has
increased and those who could not get jobs turned their faces towards other activities like an illegal
business and helping or involving them in terrorist activities. To meet this growing problem king
Suleman tried to analyze the problem and declared some policies about the illegal immigrants or
people overstaying in the country even after their immigration time has expired. The rule has been so
critical and changed the definition of the immigration that people staying in the country after the
expiry of their visa will be treated as an illegal immigrant. The police have taken very strong action
against the illegal immigrants. This all is done to accommodate their own people in certain jobs so that
they can be employed and the illegal activities can be curtailed down. The aim of the policy is to
satisfy the local people that the government is worried about their problem and taking action in the
right direction. But the analyst says that the certain work which can be performed by certain labor

A Capitalist Congregation:
Marxist Commentary on Hegemonic Powers in _Chronicle of a Death Foretold_
In the twentieth century, South Americans faced a dilemma: to succumb to the capitalist ideals of the
western world or to surrender to the communist beliefs of Marx and Engels. Through symbol laden
texts, writers communicated their beliefs concerning the two economic ideologies. In his acclaimed
novel _Chronicle of a Death Foretold_, Gabriel García Marquez vindicates Marxist ideals through his
portrayal of the Catholic Church as a manipulative hegemon that cripples its people. These townsfolk

They devote a great deal of their time and resources to receive him welcomingly. Instead of splitting
the accrued firewood and food among themselves as a commune, the town must devote all of their
time and effort to a foreigner who represents a capitalist ideology, supporting the economic
domination of a select few over an unprivileged majority. The author then juxtaposes this dedication
with the bishop s unappreciative, pretentious attitude and exceptionally affluent appearance. The
bishop wears a white cassock surrounds himself with a retinue of Spaniards as his boat soak[s] those
who were closest to the edge of the shore (Marquez 17). The author portrays the bishop as a wealthy
ruler with the townspeople as his slaves. Marquez also places him on a higher plateau physically,
looking down upon the town, even soaking them with his colossal boat. Instead of surrounding
himself with those who truly follow Catholicism and its teachings, the bishop is accompanied by light
skinned aristocrats who abuse their lofty positions in society s racial and economic hierarchies.
Marquez s depicts the bishop as unappreciative, distant from his people, and dominant over his
followers. Through this representation, Marquez effectually characterizes the Church as a controlling,
deceiving hegemon ironically omnipotent and omnipresent.

  • 2. Discrimination In Race By Marc Aronson Freedom from Discrimination Today, India is a free country, but this country s history to freedom was not pleasant. Britain, a country that occupied many territories, came to conquer India for its valuables. During this time, they treated Indians poorly and stole all the goods of the country to trade. This rule continued for nearly two hundred years, and India struggled to fight for freedom from 1857 to 1947. On August 15, 1947, India finally gained its independence through the India Independence Act passed by the British House of Common. The British House of Commons is the UK parliament that is part of the legislative branch. The act stated that India would be divided into two dominions, India and Pakistan, thus granting Pakistan independence on August 14 and Indian independence on August 15. Marc Aronson, in his book Race, explores and examines the concept of race where the reasoning behind racial discrimination can be seen. Aronson provides the four pillars of race, which show an ideology behind racism that occurs universally. During the British rule in India, the British racially discriminated Indians. As a result of the discrimination, Britain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Government of UK in a national archive mentions about specific goods that were traded during the rule over India. These specific goods helped in the political benefit of Britain. The national archive states: India, a densely populated place with long established civilisations, had a long history of contact with Europe. The main contact between Britain and India was in trade. This really began to develop during the 1600s, when the East India Company was created, a private company owned by wealthy and important figures in Britain. The Company had a monopoly of trade between Britain and Asia. The main goods traded were cotton, silk and tea. However, spices and gems were also important ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cattell Sixteen Personality Factor Model The investigation of primary traits lead to the basic definition of individual personality differences. These particular primary traits are more influential in predictability and understanding the complexity of human behaviour. The study lead to the foundation of R. Cattell s Sixteen Personality Factor Model (16PF). The Sixteen Personality Factors Test has 160 questions in total, 10 questions relating to each personality factor. The aims of 16PF is to measure personality based upon sixteen source traits summarizes the surface traits as descriptors in connection to source traits within a high and low range. Cattell ranked the traits in a hierarchy of importance to the ability of predicting human behaviour. Hence, R. Cattell. (1933, 1946) cited in Cattell Mead (2008) stated that the 16PF Questionnaire is a multi level measure of personality established on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most recognizable criticism of Cattell s Sixteen Personality Factor Model is that regardless of numerous efforts the theory has never been completely reproduced. According to Howarth and Brown s (1971) founding s, there was ten factors that were unsuccessful to relate to characteristics presented in the 16PF model. Researchers stated that the model does not measure the factors at the primary level as it supposed to (Fehriinger, 2004). Additionally, Sell et al. (1970) and Eysenck and Eysenck (1969) as well failed to confirm primary level of the 16PF (Schuerger, Zarrella, Hotz, 1989 cited in Fehriinger, 2004). Furthermore, there is an assumption that during Cattell s investigation certain error arise as, all the calculations were done manually causing skewed data and consequently the incapability to replicate the structure of the research. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Results This lab will record the growth process of embryo rescue in a hormone free media. The results on the percentages of attempts that resulted in the isolation of an intact embryo was 33%. This is due to the fact that this was the first time that I performed an embryo rescue, and made a few mistakes along the way. The first mistake that occurred was that I cut too deep into the endosperm, and cut into the embryo itself (a few times). Another mistake that was made was that I found it hard to cut into the seeds while using the forceps, without losing the seed. The percentage of intact embryos that developed into a plant was 33%, meaning the only one out of the three sprouted. The changes that occurs during the progression from dormant embryo to active growth is that the crown becomes a reddish color, which is that is appeared on most Wayfaringtree Viburnum. The red crown is due to the flavonoids that are apparent in the molecular structure. Since Wayfaringtree Viburnum has to go through the cold stratification to break dormancy, the mechanism practice that would have to take place would have to be a type of refrigeration or freezing process. This process is done for 8 10 weeks of holding temperature of 4° C. These orthodox seed will be placed in a refrigerator to break dormancy, and will continue to have continuous ... • 6. GPE Case Study In contrast to the belief of Sanocki (1933) and Pomerantz (1983), of their being either simultaneous use of global and local processing at different times or them occurring at their own respective times, Hughes, Layton, and Baird (1984) support the GPE. During Hughes, Layton, and Baird s experiment, subjects were asked to classify patterns in orientations to test the theory of GPE. In the figure orientations, they were specified for either the global (cluster orientation) or the local (line orientation) spatial domain. The single dimension control stimuli illustrated in the experiment were designed to evaluate reaction times to the local and global cues independently. All three pattern types are equated for the number of pixels in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These researchers conducted an experiment to expose the biases present in the visual processing from global to local based on one s level of field dependency. The experiment conducted by Pore, Pineau, Jobard, and Mellet (2008) consisted of each procedure being the same for all participants and them tested individually. First, participants were administered the GEFT, in accordance with standardized instructions: After seven practice items, participants had to trace with a pen the outline of one of eight simple shapes in each of 18 complex figure items. The test was time limited and scored by assigning a value of 0 or 1 for inaccurate and accurate responses, respectively. Accuracy scores, which could range from 0 to 18, were recorded. Low and high GEFT scores correspond to FD and FI, respectively. Subsequently, participants were presented with the global local task using a personal laptop computer with a 15 in.screen at a resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels (width and height, respectively) running Superlab software applications (Cedrus Corporation, San Pedro, CA).Participants sat in front of the display with their hands placed on the key board of the computer and viewed the stimuli at a distanceof60 cm. • 7. The Good The Bad And Your Business In The Good, the Bad, and Your Business, Jeffery Seglin explains that managers in today s business world must not only deal with situations pertaining to the workplace, but also make more complicated decisions regarding their employees personal lives. Seglin explains that the best managers treat those below them on the corporate ladder not as subordinates, but as equals. He cites a Gallop Organization study which revealed that employees who feel cared about, that their opinion matters, and that their companies are family friendly will not only be happier, but will perform better. This being said, a manager merely saying he values his employees is not sufficient; rather, the employees must sense that there is substance to the manager s claims. Similarly, Seglin references Kenneth Goodpaster, who believes that companies have a moral obligation to avoid harming their employees directly, help employees in need, and respect the rights of their employees. ... This time, the company has a plan. They have policies in place, and put him on short term disability and in a live in rehabilitation center. • 10. Wireless Networks Can Be Broadly Classified Into Three... Wireless Networks can be broadly classified into three categories: Infrastructure based networks, Wireless LANs and Ad Hoc Networks. Infrastructure based networks are traditional cellular systems which require base station infrastructure. Wireless LANs are very flexible within the reception area. It requires low bandwidth when compared to wired networks. Ad Hoc networks are useful when the infrastructure is not available, impractical or expensive to build. In Cellular Wireless, spaces are divided into cells. Each cell consists of base stations which is responsible to communicate with the hosts in its cell. Hosts moves from one cell to cell to another and hand off occurs, the new base station takes care of the communication. In Multi hop wireless, mobility causes a change of route. Hence it need to traverse multiple links to reach destination. Ad hoc network is a self organizing multi hop wireless network, which relies neither on infrastructure nor on the predetermined connectivity. Rapid deployment of mobile users will be the need for the next generation wireless communication systems. A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of mobile users that communicate over constrained wireless links with lower bandwidth. Network scenarios which include establishing dynamic communication for emergency/rescue operations, survivable, efficient, disaster relief efforts and military networks cannot rely on organized and centralized connectivity. From variable wind speeds and air density to propeller count and battery output, each time you head out to the flight field, get ready to experience a new snowflake. Depending on the type of flying you re planning on doing and the type of speeds you re looking to achieve, there needs to be some consideration into the gear your drone will be running. A racing drone needs different props than a videography drone. Heavy drones need more thrust to get up and stay off the ground, while other, lighter designs require less, which means some variation in the LiPo used. • 13. An Evaluation Of Finite Duration Satisfaction is an evaluation of finite duration, made by the customer on product performance of the same, be it a good or service (Oliver, 1980). This review, according to the author, it tends to turn into a positive attitude (or not) by the consumer. Tse and Wilton (1988), defined as consumer response to the evaluation of the discrepancy between the previous and current performance expectations of a product as perceived after consumption. Oliver (1980) and Selnes (1998) argue that this is an essential variable to the continuity of a relationship and for future customer retention. 1.1.2. Perceived Quality This construct is the judgment and perception of consumers about the excellence and global superiority of a good or service, compared to other competitors. Unlike objective quality, which are meant to standardize parameters and full functioning (that leads to consumer satisfaction), perceived quality is an attitudinal element, linked to the perception of significance (Parasuraman et al., 1988) . Fullerton (2005) indicates that relationships are built with perceived quality as the foundation. This construct is even stronger when inserted in the service sector, where Kandampully (1998), Hougaard and Bjerre (2003) point out the superiority of the companies where quality is superior. 1.1.3. Trust Trust is seen as the most important in building relationships, being essential for achieving retention of consumers (Crosby et al., 1990; Morgan and Hunt, 1994; Selnes, 1998; ... They wanted a voice through democratic participation, and they wanted social and economic reform. The movement existed from 1838 1858 and they got their name from the People s Charter of 1838. Chartism evolved for economic and political reasons, such as feeling betrayed by the middle class, and the Whig government adopting policies that the working class viewed as a betrayal. When parliament rejected the petition 235 to 46 some of the Chartist members turned to violence. A man named John Frost led approximately one thousand armed members in the Newport Rising. When things turned violent many people were killed of injured, and supporters fled because they were in fear of loosing jobs, or possibly even getting killed. William Lovett, who was one of the founders of the movement, left the movement because of the violence that was now being demonstrated by the Chartists. Economic interests were also improving in the 1840 s and because the economic conditions were on the rise food and goods were not as expensive. Because of this people were slightly less concerned about the economy leading to more loss of support for the Chartists. There were also discrepancies on their third and final petition in 1848. They had lied about the amount of signatures on the petition, and some of the names listed on the petition were said to be forged or listed more than once. After that third petition the Chartists were mocked in the newspapers for the lies and forgeries. Some people were not taking them serious anymore and again, they lost more support. Arguably, the main causes of their fall was the violence, as well as the rise in economy that made the Chartists lose steam. Even though they were not successful at that time, in later years some of the Chartist ideas were incorporated into the Reform Acts of 1867 and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, these societies weren t always set up this way. In England and the United States, for example, during the 18th century, were typically made up of two classes: the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. The bourgeoisie was the upper middle class who controlled most of the wealth and power. Unlike the bourgeoisie, the proletariats were people who weren t wealthy but earned their wages by manual labor or working in factories. Separate to the bourgeoisie, whose power was associated with the ability to purchase material objects and plenty of property, the proletariat s only power was derived from their ability to work. He used highly calculated geometry to develop his compositions and perfected the technique of pointillism, a method of placing small dots or brushstrokes made out of pure color right from the tube of paint. When viewing Seurat s, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (1884 1886), you recognize the pointillism technique making up the entire composition, as well as Seurat s reaction to the 19th century social hierarchy in Paris. This colossal artwork, measuring in at 7x10 feet, shows the day in the life of a bourgeoisie person. The figures represent a range of bourgeoisie types that would have been easily recognizable to the 19th century viewer with their confident stance and expensive attire. They don t think about the people dying in one room while one is being born in another. Lightning Crashes by Live embodies the circle of life perfectly. Live is an American rock band originating for York, Pennsylvania. The song was released in September of 1994 as a single for their album Throwing Copper. Ed Kowalczyk, one of the members of Live, dedicated this song to a high school friend who passed away from a drunk driving collision. The friend had donated several organs. This song specifically speaks to how she gave a new life to others by donating her organs. Kowalczyk has said that he envisioned the music video to be in a hospital, where there is plenty of deaths and births taking place. Instead of that vision, the video takes place in a home, giving off a more peaceful feeling and a happy ending atmosphere. The opening of the music video portrays the image of a new mother giving birth in one room, while in another room an elderly woman is dying, symbolizing one life being brought into the world as another is taken. Even though Lightning Crashes does not use the appeal of logos, it displays a strong usage of pathos and offers a credible source of ethos to draw in its listeners. The song practices several emotional metaphors throughout the lyrics, the music video displays emotional imagery, and it can relate to outside ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is the largest randomized, controlled, clinical trial comparing neonatal pain between Gomco and Mogen clamps. Furthermore, by having all the circumcisions be performed by a single provider group, the authors were able to control for provider confounders. Both procedure protocols were solely based on the most recent recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics. • 26. Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe Since its publication in 1719, Robinson Crusoe has served as a popular adventure novel. The overall content of the story presents itself as nothing more than adventurous, but after a close reading it becomes clear that the narrative has an underlying message of colonialism. The novel tells the story of a European man who gradually gains complete control over an island in the Caribbean. The author, Daniel Defoe, presents colonialism by portraying the protagonist as someone who slowly and progressively asserts his dominion over the foreign land. In the novel colonialism is clearly reflected through the relationship between the colonized and the colonizer. It is through Crusoe s interactions with Friday that multiple allegorical facets of colonialism such as economic power, psychological domination, and spiritual belief become evident to the reader. The relationship between Crusoe and Friday shows the relationship of master and slave. Crusoe metaphorically represents the imperial figure or colonizer while Friday becomes the metaphor for the colonized. Robinson however does not fall immediately into his role as colonizer he first has to establish control over the island itself and learn how to survive. This is why he is fearful and hesitant when he was exceedingly surprised with the print of a man s naked foot on the shore, which was very plain to be seen on the sand.
