This document provides instructions for a plant life cycle hanger project. Students are asked to choose a plant to research, record facts about it from various sources, and illustrate its life cycle on a hanger. The completed hanger should include a title, fact card, life cycle poster, examples of the plant's uses, and any additional items, and be no larger than 18 inches wide and 3 feet long. Students will present their completed hangers to the class.

Plant Life Cycle Hanger Project
Due: January 14, 2011
1. Choose a topic to research and explore for your hanger project. You
may choose any type of vegetable, fruit, plant, or tree to learn more about in
order to describe its life cycle.
2. Research your topic using books, magazines, the internet, or places you
may have visited like a nursery.
3. Record facts and illustrations. Make sure your facts are written in your own
words. Illustrations can be hand-drawn or ones that you have found from a
book or online.
4. Use a hanger to assemble your hanger report. Include the following:
• An artistic description of your plant of choice + title = top
• A fact card about your topic.
• A small poster of the life cycle of the plant you have chosen.
• Examples of how people use the fruit from the plant =bottom.
• Any other item you may wish to add (like a tractor with you on it).
• Make sure all of your items are securely fastened.
• Projects should be no larger than 18 in. wide and 3 ft. long.
5. Make sure you know all about your topic. You will be
presenting your project to the class.
