Solar System Hanger Project
Due: January 14, 2011
1. Choose a topic to research and explore for your hanger project. You
may choose the moon, the sun, a planet, or any other feature in space.
2. Research your topic using books, magazines, the internet, or places you
may have visited like a planetarium.
3. Record facts and illustrations. Make sure your facts are written in your own
words. Illustrations can be hand-drawn or ones that you have found from a
book or online.
4. Use a hanger to assemble your hanger report. Include the following:
• An artistic description of your celestial body + title = top
• A fact card about your topic.
• A small poster of the solar system showing where your
celestial body is located in relation to Earth.
• A space ship that you have designed to travel there = bottom.
• Any other item you may wish to add (like an astronaut).
• Make sure all of your items are securely fastened.
• Projects should be no larger than 18 in. wide and 3 ft. long.
5. Make sure you know all about your topic. You will be
presenting your project to the class.
