5. Fonts I am considering for my front cover
I’ve decided to use the “franchise” font as my front cover
master head font, I feel this font relates well to previous
magazines such as NME and Mojo that I look at during my
research this could be a subject to change due to my layout
6. Possible Magazine Although I would like to
decide my magazine name
during production, The name
Names I would most like to use is
YOLO as it is a abbreviation
of you only live once.

13. Research into fonts for band/artist
(especially for indie/rock)
Most of the fonts for indie/rock
bands/artists are simple, they are not
over the top but are simple and quirky to
give of the indie feel about them. Most of
the fonts are conventional although The
Libertines and The King Blues have a
more unconventional fonts, the rest are
simple. For singer songwriter artist such
as bon iver or Lucy rose have a hand
written font.
14. Fonts I am considering for my band/artist
My three final choices out of the fonts are, Traveling
Typewriter, Learning Curve, Skinny. As I feel all these
fonts relate well to indie rock and to the image of my
band/artist. I will decide what suits best when
producing my magazine.
15. Band name?
These are the possible
names for my band, I will
decide the final name of my
band when creating the
magazine.
16. Artist Name
These are the possible names for my
artist, I will decide the final name of my
artist during magazine production
17. Colours Schemes I am considering
I feel that my
colour theme must
be quite simple to
as this is what I
Theme 1 Theme 2 picked up through
my research as
most rock/indie
genre music
magazines have a
very simplistic
colour scheme
that is consistent
throughout the
magazine. So
through this
evidence I have
decided I should
Theme 3 Theme 4 include basic
colours such as
black and white
and a bright colour
to add personality
and fun to the
magazine, NME
magazine do this
very well,
18. Colours themes I am considering
I would also like to use natural
colours through out the
magazine, I do not want these
colours to clash with the
original colours. I would like to
use these subtle colours on
extra pieces of information
and inserts on pages that are
not directly related to what is
on the page
19. Mode of Address
For my magazine I am going to use a informal/colloquial
language, as I have seen this done in magazines that fit my
genre for example they use words such as fab and talk to
the reader is a friendly way to make a connection between
the reader, making them feel valued. The informal
language will also relate well to how my audience talk and
how they communicate with their own peers, as my target
audience will be young students it will relate to their own
personal mode of address. Although I would like to stick
to a semi formal mode of adress an not lean towards
complete street slang, as this is more related to hip hop
and r&b fans not indie/rock fans.
