My interviewees are a range of
people who are constantly
using the internet and social
media, all the interviewees are
from within a school
environment, which means
that they all have similar
experiences with the uses of
the internet and bullying.
Constable Skibbs is going to
be interviewed on the basis of
how the local authorities are
trying to deter and stop cyber
bullying and the legal action
that can be used to stop cyber
bullying if it gets out of hand.
 This is the title for my documentary, after
close consideration and feedback from those
who are in my class I decided that this would
be the best title for my documentary as cyber
bullying can start with just ‘One Click’ of a
mouse.
 Format: My production will be an extract from
a documentary
 Length: Approximately 5 minutes
 My documentary is going to be based around the
issues of cyber bullying, whether or not it is
perceived as less harmful than traditional forms
of bullying, how it affects its victims, what makes
a bully resort to cyber bullying and how those in
positions of power try to deter and minimise
cyber bullying. Alongside these conventions the
documentary will feature interviews from victims
of cyber bullying, a reformed cyber bully and an
interview from a head teacher and police officer.
 The target audience for my documentary will be
males and females aged between 11 – 35. The reason
for choosing this audience due to the fact that they
are the ages that would actively use a form or
multiple forms of social media, which makes them
more open to attacks from cyber bullies. Due to this
it is more than likely that they would be interested in
watching an informative documentary about the
implications of cyber bullying.
 Although cyber bullying can be a distressing subject,
my documentary will not have any convections that
will not allow it to have a BBFC rating of ‘PG’, hence
the reason I chose to give it a BBFC rating of ‘PG’.
 What is cyber bullying, how does it differ from
traditional forms of bullying?
 What are the implications it has on social media
users?
 What are local powers doing to minimise the
risks of cyber bullying?
 What are local powers doing to help those
affected by cyber bullying?
 How many people actively use different forms of
social media?
 How can you minimise the risk of you getting
cyber bullied?
 The rationale of my documentary is to inform
and educate my audience on the topic of cyber
bullying. I hope to inform the audience of the
dangers of social media and the internet and how
to stay safe whilst on the ‘web’. The desired
impact of my production is shed some light on
the topic of cyber bullying and inform people on
the implications that cyber bullying has on its
victims lives and that there are people out there
that are willing to help if they (audience) are
being cyber bullied.
 To test if my product is successful I will
create a post questionnaire, with a variety of
questions about my final production. This will
help me gather feedback from consumers
and see if they enjoyed the production and
found it informative. The questions will vary
from the strongest aspect of my documentary
to how I could improve it.
 I will upload my final production to social
media sites via YouTube in order to gain the
wider publics opinion on the documentary.
 An informative voice over
 Interviews with those who have knowledge or
experience on the topic
 Cutaways
 Reconstructions
 Archived footage/Stills
 Natural sound and lighting
 Texts and titles
 Statistics/Figures
 Equipment: The equipment that will be used to film my production will be hired from the
school’s media department, as a result of this there are a few negative implications
which include; limited time with the equipment as other students may have booked out
the equipment for the same day, other students may book the equipment prior to you
which means that there may be a chance that there is no equipment left for you,
meaning you are unable to film. Due to these associated constraints I will have to
precise with my filming and make sure that I use the equipment to my full advantage
when it is booked out in my name.
 Time: Any form of production requires time, however a documentary needs immaculate
time management, as interviews will have to be scheduled for specific days and they will
have to correlate with the days that I have booked out the equipment, this goes for any
form of recording for the whole production e.g. cutaways and recording of voice over’s
and interviews.
 Human resources: Just like the majority of productions, my production is reliant of other
people. If my interviewee is unreliable, late or cancel a meeting then time has been
wasted and I will be unable to finish my production and get a story or experience from
them. Also finding a victim of cyber is extremely difficult in itself, however finding an
individual who has been affected by cyber bullying and who is willing to speak about
their experience will be even more difficult. Therefore extra planning and time will be
used to make sure that the correct individuals will be found for my documentary.
